Chapter 120 Put Your All Into Studying

Chapter 120 Put Your All Into Studying

Grayson pulled Eloise out to the garden to feed the koi.

He handed her a box of fish food. “Didn’t you say you like feeding fish? Go on, then.”

Eloise really did enjoy feeding the fish.

Seeing Noah behind Grayson, she beckoned him over. “Noah, come join us. Let’s feed the fish together.”

Noah grinned and ran over, standing right next to Eloise.

They both grabbed some fish food and tossed it into the pond.

“Mom, that fish is such a bully. The other fish can’t get any food. It’s eating everything,” Noah said.

Eloise replied, “Let’s throw some over there so the other koi can get a chance to eat, too.”

“Okay,” Noah agreed.

Grayson squeezed himself in next to Eloise, bumping Noah out of the way, and tossed a handful of fish food into the pond.

Noah looked up at his big, strong dad. “Why are you shoving me?”

Grayson glanced down at him, feigning innocence. “Did I shove you?”

Noah puffed up his cheeks, grumbling, “If you didn’t, then how did I end up over here?”

“Oh please, you walked over there on your own,” Grayson said.

Noah gave Eloise his best puppy eyes. “Mom, you have to be the judge here.”

Eloise rolled her eyes at Grayson. “You’re so childish.”

With that, she sidestepped Grayson and walked over to Noah.

Noah grabbed Eloise’s hand. “Mom, let’s go. Ignore him.”

‘Seriously, Dad is the worst. He keeps hogging Mom,’ Noah thought to himself.

‘It’s been days since I got to see Mom. Can’t Dad just give me a break and let me spend some time with her?’ Noah grumbled inwardly.

Eloise and Noah moved to the other side of the pond to feed the fish together.

Grayson gritted his teeth, feeling a little left out. ‘Seriously, why do they always ditch me?’

After dinner, Eloise wanted to take Noah home.

Grayson spoke up, “He doesn’t have preschool tomorrow or the day after. Why not let him stay here? There’s nobody at home for him to hang out with anyway.”

Eloise just pursed her lips and said nothing.

She missed her son.

Coming home without Noah always felt so lonely.

But Grayson was right. It’s way better for Noah to stay at Pierce Manor with everyone around than to be stuck at home alone.

She sighed, “Alright.”

Grayson gave a slight smirk.

“I’ll bring in a couple of teachers to keep Noah busy and teach him a few things. It’s boring for him to just hang around all day,” Grayson said.

Eloise replied, “But Noah’s still so young. He really doesn’t need that.”

Hannah chimed in, “Exactly! My precious boy is way too little for all that studying. Just let him play as much as he wants.”

Leo stayed quiet.

He actually supported Grayson’s plan for Noah.

Noah was a quick learner. He picked things up fast, so it was a good idea to start teaching him early.

Everyone turned to Noah, waiting for him to speak.

Noah said, “I want to learn. Dad, go ahead and set it up for me.”

Grayson replied, “Alright.”

Hannah clutched her chest, looking at Noah. “Oh dear, he’s just a little kid and now he has to suffer through studying. My heart can’t take it!”

“Noah, if you don’t feel like learning, then don’t! It’s totally fine. The Pierce family is loaded, just eat, drink, and have fun, that’s all you need to do.”

“Grandma!” Noah whined.

Grayson was speechless.

Hannah pouted. “That’s just how it is! We’re a big, wealthy family. There’s no reason for a little kid like him to

work so hard.”

Noah said, “Great-grandma, it’s not hard for me. I actually like learning.”

Leo gently patted Noah’s head, feeling proud and relieved.

‘Noah is already so impressive at such a young age. The future of the Pierce family is secure, Leo thought, full of pride.

Grayson said, “He’s the firstborn. One day, he’ll be running all the Pierce family’s businesses. No way am I letting him just eat, drink, and play all day. He needs to study and really put his heart into it!”

“And when his little sister is born, he’ll have to provide for her. If he doesn’t hit the books, how’s he supposed to pull that off?” Grayson added.

‘If I’d known it would turn out like this, I should’ve just never come back to claim my spot, Noah grumbled to

himself.

Eloise pinched Grayson’s waist.

‘This guy just loves talking nonsense, Eloise thought.

Grayson took her hand. “Come on, Eloise, you want a little girl too, right?”

Eloise shot him a sarcastic smile. “Not a chance!”

“You don’t really mean that,” Grayson teased.

As soon as Hannah Pierce heard there might be a great-granddaughter, she instantly pictured a sweet, milky- soft little girl with two braided pigtails, grinning as she ran toward her.

‘She’s so cute!’ Hannah thought, totally smitten.

Eloise kept glancing at Noah in the rearview mirror, her heart aching as she watched the little guy just stand there, watching her leave, not moving an inch.

Eloise’s nose tingled, and her eyes welled up with tears.

Grayson noticed Eloise was crying. He quickly pulled the car over to the side of the road, unbuckled his seatbelt, and wrapped his arms around her. “What’s wrong? Why are you crying all of a sudden?”

She wasn’t making a sound, so Grayson didn’t notice at first. It was only when he saw her lift her hand to wipe her eyes that he realized she was crying.

Eloise choked out, “I miss Noah.”

Grayson patted her back gently. “Didn’t you just see him a moment ago?”

“You don’t understand,” Eloise choked out. “Noah and I have never been apart since he was born. I’ve watched him grow from a tiny baby, and seeing him just standing there, staring at our car as we left. It broke my heart.”

Grayson kept soothing her. “How about we move? You and Noah can live in the Clidale Road villa. He won’t have to stay at Pierce Manor anymore, and Grandma can visit whenever she likes. I’ll hire a few more helpers. That way, you’ll get to see Noah every day after work.”

Eloise stayed silent for a while, then finally agreed. “Alright.”

Grayson grinned.

‘At last, I finally convinced Eloise to move, Grayson thought, feeling a rush of relief.

“It’s too late tonight. Let’s do it tomorrow. I’ll have Finn arrange for the movers to come over,” Grayson said.

“Okay,” Eloise replied softly.

That night when they got home, Eloise started packing up whatever could be boxed up for the move.

Grayson helped her pack.

Eloise and Noah didn’t have much, so packing was easy.

The next day, not long after Eloise arrived at the office, the HR manager called her in.

“Ms. Caldwell, I’m afraid you’ve been let go. This is your termination agreement. Please sign here,” the HR manager said.

Eloise just stood there, stunned.

The HR manager continued, “Don’t worry. The company will give you a severance package. The finance department will transfer the money to your account, along with your salary for this month.”

Eloise swallowed hard and asked, “I want to know why I’m being fired.”

The HR manager replied, “This is a direct order from the chairman. We have no idea why. Ms. Caldwell, did you somehow offend Mr. Hayes?”

She thought hard, but for the life of her, she couldn’t remember ever crossing Cyrus.
