Grayson merely shrugged. “As I said, finding out what I want to know is simple. A snap of my fingers.”

Eloise was skeptical. ‘It’s one thing for him to find my address, but how does he know I’m taking Noah to my boss’s house? Still, it doesn’t matter now.’
“Mr. Pierce, I’m in a hurry. We can’t talk right now.” She looked around for her ride–sharing car.
Grayson took Noah’s small suitcase from her hand. “Let Noah stay with me.”
Eloise blinked. “Mr. Pierce, don’t joke around.”
Grayson said seriously, “I’m not joking. I’m serious. I’ll take good care of him, you have my word.”
Eloise refused right away, “There’s no need to trouble you, I’ll—“|
“Don’t want to trouble me,” Grayson cut her off, his tone sharpening, “but you’ll trouble Beckett? Are you that close with him?”
“We have a good working relationship,” Eloise said defensively. She was grateful Beckett had offered a solution.
Her answer successfully irritated Grayson, but he had no real right to be angry. Instead of arguing, he simply picked Noah up and deposited him into the passenger seat of the silver sports car.
Noah, sitting in the sleek vehicle for the first time, his eyes wide with awe. ‘This is so cool.‘
“Come on, Noah, get out of the car,” Eloise said, exasperated.
Grayson held a protective hand near Noah. “Eloise, did you ever ask Noah if he actually wants to go to Beckett’s house?”
Eloise answered, “Of course I did. He agreed.”
“Then let’s give him a real choice right now. Ask him: does he want to go to Mr. Hayes’s house, or does he want to come with me?” Grayson suggested.
Seeing the clear admiration Noah had for the flashy car, Eloise ft a twinge of uncertainty. “Sweetie, where would you prefer to go?”
Noah looked at her carefully, his voice small. “Aunt Eloise, can lease go with Mr. Pierce?”
Eloise’s shoulders slumped slightly in defeat.
Grayson’s lips quirked in a barely–there smile. “See? Now you know what he really wants.”
Eloise wrestled with her thoughts for a moment. ‘Noah knows Gyson is his father. Of course, he’s drawn to Grayson. But…
She looked at Noah’s pleading, hopeful expression. He hadn’t wanted to go to Beckett’s place at all. He’d only agreed to spare her worry. ‘Fine. Let him go to Grayson’s
“Mr. Pierce,” she said finally, her voice resigned. “Thank you for oking after him.”

Noah is Grayson’s son, after all, she thought as the car pulled away. ‘Looking after him for a few days is the least he can do. It’s his responsibility. I don’t owe him anything!‘
Grayson watched her car disappear, irritation simmering. He go into the Lamborghini.
As he drove, the silver sports car turned heads, with some people even snapping pictures.
Grayson glanced at the excited, radiant look on Noah’s face and felt his annoyance soften. “Like it?”
Noah nodded. It was the coolest car he had ever seen.
“When you’re old enough to get your license,” Grayson said offhandedly, “I’ll get you one.”
Noah stared at him, surprised. “I’m not your son. Why would you give me something so expensive?”
Grayson chuckled. “Because I want to. Because I can.”
Noah made a face, then ventured a question. “Mr. Pierce, what would you do if you suddenly found out you had a son?”
“Impossible,” Grayson answered without hesitation.
“Why?” Noah asked.
“I just know it’s impossible, that’s all.” He’d only ever been with Elbise. ‘No other women, no sperm donations. A secret child popping up? Absolutely not.’
Noah desperately wanted to wipe that confident look off his face But he couldn’t say a word.
Eloise called Beckett. “Mr. Hayes, I’ll meet you directly at the airport.”
Beckett had been waiting at home, planning to leave with her after she dropped Noah off. “What about your son?”
Eloise could only say, “I’ve made other arrangements. I won’t treble you further.”
“Where is he staying?” Beckett asked.
“With a friend.” She couldn’t possibly tell him she’d left Noah with Grayson. That would raise too many questions.
“Alright. See you at the airport.” Beckett hung up.
Eloise ended the call, a knot of worry forming in her stomach. Se was terrified Grayson might discover the truth about Noah.
But seeing the longing in her son’s eyes, she hadn’t had the hearto refuse him Noah knew Grayson was his father. He wanted to be with him. Stopping that would have felt cruel.
Grayson brought Noah back to No. 58, Vernal Road. Noah walked in without any shyness. “Do you live here all by yourself?”
