Juniper shook her head, trying to clear the lingering fog from her cold. "Have your things packed and be out of here by four o'clock."
The man's face flushed completely red, and he exploded in anger. "Fine, I'll leave! Juniper, I've worked in the auction industry for nearly twenty years. Several people in Lumina Workshop are my apprentices. You're showing me zero respect, and I can't wait to see how you manage them when I'm gone!"
He spun around, furiously packing his belongings before storming out the door.
Juniper knew this man was their most senior employee. Three of the current staff members used to work directly under him, and right now, all three of them were staring at the floor.
Juniper refused to leave a ticking time bomb in her company. She sat down at an empty desk, logged into the studio's official account, screenshotted the explosive post, tagged the original author, and outlined their immediate actions.
First, the employee responsible had been immediately terminated.
Second, a full refund would be issued to the buyer.
Third, a formal and sincere apology from the studio.
As she typed, she addressed the rest of the room. "If you disagree with how I handled this, you are free to leave right now. I don't want anyone working here harboring a grudge. I emphasized repeatedly that we cannot afford a single mistake right now. Our livestreams have been drawing massive traffic, meaning all the major competitors are watching us like hawks. The moment we slip up, they will tear us apart."
The three apprentices exchanged uneasy glances, clearly harboring deep distrust toward Juniper.
Between a young female boss and a veteran mentor, they obviously sided with the latter.
"We're sorry, Boss."
The three of them silently began packing their bags.
The studio originally had ten employees. Jade Vance had been arrested, and now four more were leaving. Just like that, they were down to a skeleton crew of five.
Juniper rubbed her temples, a dull ache throbbing behind her eyes. They were severely understaffed. If they didn't bring in new people immediately, the operation would grind to a halt.
Her vision for the studio was long-term. If it successfully expanded, the founding members would have been heavily rewarded. Keeping employees with compromised ethics would only trigger catastrophic crises down the line.
She looked at the remaining members. "If any of you want to leave with them, I won't stop you."
Juno Yates adjusted the cap on her head and spoke softly. "He did it on purpose. I walked past his desk the other day and saw him messaging someone from the rival agency. They transferred him twenty thousand dollars and offered him a high-paying position to jump ship."
