He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 212

Beatrice's eyes were filled with absolute despair. Her hands shook violently, entirely clueless about what to do as she watched Nadine get wheeled into the emergency room.

Nadine had struck her own stomach with brutal force. Since she was already two months away from her due date, a stunt like this was incredibly dangerous to her own body. No one would ever suspect she had done it to herself on purpose.

Beatrice had been battered by one catastrophe after another, and she was on the verge of losing her mind. She collapsed into a waiting room chair.

Juniper said nothing. She only felt numb. Even her cheek didn't hurt anymore.

Yara was furious seeing her get slapped. "Beatrice, Nadine was punching her own stomach! We didn't do anything to her!"

"If you two hadn't gone looking for trouble, would she have lost her mind and hit herself? You're adults! Don't you know when to back off?!"

Beatrice buried her face in her hands, her shoulders trembling slightly.

Yara pressed her lips into a thin line. The Lane family had been hit with so much recently that Beatrice was completely irrational.

She glanced at Juniper, who had already taken a seat silently beside her.

A moment later, a doctor rushed out, saying Nadine was demanding to see Beatrice.

Beatrice quickly threw on a sterile gown and rushed inside, only to hear Nadine pushing through the pain to issue an ultimatum. "The doctor said if I don't push, this baby won't make it. The delivery is happening early. Mom, give me the deed to the Oakley house, or I'm not having this baby."

The house in the city was already in Nadine's name, and now she wanted the old village property where the elderly couple lived.

It was purely because of a recent rumor that a new highway was going to be built through Oakley. If the land was bought out, it would mean a massive payout.

"Nadine, everything we have is for you and the baby! Why are you fighting with me at a time like this?!"

"Write up the transfer agreement right now, or this baby is dead."

Beatrice was frantic, sweat pouring down her face. Thinking of the two million dollars she was secretly holding onto, she gritted her teeth. "Fine! I'll give you the house. I'll get someone to draft the paperwork. Just please, deliver the baby first!"
