He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 244

"I know it's hard for you to move, so I borrowed a wheelchair from the hospital. Brooks, whenever someone insulted Juniper in front of you, you always defended her. I know deep down you care about your sister. We have to stop her from throwing her life away."

She helped Brooks into the wheelchair, completely disregarding the doctor's strict orders that he shouldn't leave the bed.

Brooks didn't stop her. He merely asked, "What about the baby?"

"Dad's here, isn't he? Mom said Dad wakes up occasionally. We'll just put the baby next to him."

She casually placed the infant beside the comatose Walter and hurriedly grabbed the handles of Brooks's wheelchair. "Mom is downstairs, right? We'll grab her on the way."

As soon as she pushed the wheelchair out of the room, she spotted Beatrice.

Beatrice gasped in shock. "Didn't the doctor say he shouldn't be moved? Where are you taking him?"

"Mom, my friend told me Juniper is out fooling around with a bunch of men right now. She hates me, so she definitely won't listen to anything I say. You and Brooks have to come with me."

Beatrice's vision swam, and she nearly passed out on the spot.

Her hands trembled as Lydia Thorne's cruel words echoed in her mind—that once Nelson Saint was tired of playing with Juniper, he would just pass her around to other men.

A suffocating wave of despair washed over Beatrice, draining her strength as she forced herself to follow them.

The location wasn't far. It was an inconspicuous, rundown building nearby, even grubbier than the cheap motel Nadine had previously stayed in. The security guard was just an old man, the exterior paint was peeling off, and the ground was littered with shady business cards advertising illicit services.

Nadine took one look and wrinkled her nose in disgust. "She really knows how to degrade herself. Even if she's hooking up, couldn't she find a better place? It's so filthy here—how can she even stomach it? Getting passed around by a bunch of guys... she really has hit rock bottom."

Beatrice's face flushed red, then drained of color entirely. She almost collapsed to the floor. She desperately wanted to argue with Nadine, to scream that Juniper only acted out because of her psychiatric condition, that she occasionally lost her mind and had been dragged here against her will.
