He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 331

Upon returning to the Thorne estate, Lydia flew into a rage, smashing everything in her room.

Vases, expensive skincare products—anything she could get her hands on was destroyed.

Mirabelle stood in the doorway. Knowing this was about Nelson again, she sighed. "There's a crisis at Harold's house. You just got back from the hospital—how is Lucas?"

Lydia's chest heaved. It felt like everything was working against her lately.

She took a deep breath. "Nelson crippled Lucas for Juniper, then found a fall guy. He executed it flawlessly. That useless piece of trash Lucas was so terrified by one look from Nelson that he didn't dare say a word about the truth."

Mirabelle hadn't expected things to escalate to this level. She stayed silent for a moment before grasping Lydia's hand. "Nelson is the sole heir right now. The Saint family values him, so he can never be with Juniper openly, especially with her ruined reputation. Lydia, even if you make a move, remember what I told you: never drag yourself down with her. Worst-case scenario, even if you can't lock Nelson down, your current status is already the absolute pinnacle of our social circle. Stop obsessing over battling someone as insignificant as Juniper. It's beneath you."

That was easy to say, but the higher Lydia climbed, the more she wanted.

Nelson was the epitome of perfection in her eyes. Why shouldn't she have him?

Having calmed down, she linked her arm through Mirabelle's. "Alright, Mom. I know. We'll deal with this after we attend the Harrington family matriarch's birthday banquet in a few days."

The old Mrs. Harrington's birthday was fast approaching. The Xavier family had two Imperial Green bracelets, but they refused to sell them.

A vicious glint flashed in Lydia's eyes as she coldly dialed Caleb's number.

Because Caleb had proven incompetent earlier, she had chosen to ally with Gideon Xavier. But dealing with Gideon was like making a deal with a tiger, and now she felt she was losing control of him. She thought Gideon would swallow the Xavier family whole, but Caleb had somehow managed to survive the onslaught.

Lydia felt utterly frustrated. She had her people look into it but still couldn't figure out who was secretly backing Caleb.

It didn't matter, though. She had leverage over him.

"Mr. Xavier, it's me. You should know exactly what I want."

Caleb's auction house was currently the center of attention among wealthy socialites because of those two Imperial Green bracelets. Business was booming, giving him a much-needed breather. Hearing Lydia's voice on the line, his brow furrowed slightly. "I'm not selling the bracelets."

"Mr. Xavier, Juniper was the one who secured those bracelets for you. It seems she still doesn't know that you almost sold her out. If Nelson hadn't beaten Corbin half to death, Juniper would have been defiled by your so-called brother, wouldn't she? If she found out, do you really think she'd still willingly work for you?"

It was true what they said—you could never rely on luck. The karma of his past actions had finally come back to bite him.

Juniper was currently juggling work at both the studio and the auction house, excelling at everything. Her recent success in the stone-gambling scene had made her famous. At least within the professional jade circles, she was the hottest topic around. Even Master Zale had inquired about her multiple times.
