He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 359

A look of sheer disgust flashed across Yvonne's eyes—an expression Walter couldn't stomach.

He struggled desperately to sit up, but his body was far too weak. After a few agonizing attempts, all he could produce was a ragged, wheezing gasp.

Yvonne crossed her arms, her impossibly expensive bag dangling casually from one finger.

"Years ago, Juniper threw herself at my son so aggressively that she scared him right out of the country. She was locked in the Blackwood Institute for nearly a year, and I never expected she'd still be begging to spread her legs for him now. My son's charm must be truly extraordinary to have turned her into such a shameless little tramp. But then again, looking back at three generations of your family—just a bunch of dirt-poor peasants working the fields—what kind of respectable daughter could you possibly raise? No matter how hard she tries, she's still just my son's plaything. A cheap, disposable mistress."

Even as she spewed such venom, Yvonne's posture remained impeccably aristocratic. "Every drop of medicine you take, every IV line they hook you up to, is bought and paid for by your daughter sleeping with my son. Enjoy it while you can. After all, isn't selling your daughters your family's favorite pastime? Beatrice was utterly pathetic, selling Juniper out for millions of dollars. I heard she's dead now—good riddance. If you ask me, Juniper is the curse that ruined your entire family."

She let out a sharp, triumphant laugh. Taking a deep breath, she continued, "I heard you need another six months to fully recover. Congratulations. But my son probably won't keep playing with her for that long; he gets bored easily. When he's done, he'll toss her to some other man. Whether that man is a decrepit old creep or carrying some disease, who knows?"

She shrugged, her designer bag swaying gently. As she reached the door, she turned back to look at Walter.

His face was twisted in absolute disbelief, devastation, and above all, unbearable, crushing shame.

Yvonne smiled, maintaining her flawless high-society facade. "It seems you never taught Juniper the concept of self-respect. But I suppose I can't blame her. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I heard you and Beatrice were both unfaithful—what kind of decent child could come from trash like that? Your daughter perfectly inherited your vile nature, so she completely deserves to be treated like a toy."

With those final, lethal words, she opened the door and walked out.

Walter let out a series of horrifying, suffocating wheezes, thrashing weakly against the mattress, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't sit up.

A passing nurse noticed his violent agitation and immediately alerted the specialist team.

The doctors rushed in, frantically checking his vitals and analyzing the chaotic data, throwing the room into a state of intense urgency.

Alistair, who was currently at the hospital, hesitated before calling Juniper. The specialists had just informed him that Walter's condition was critical; it was a coin toss whether he would survive the night.
