Nelson's brow twitched as he asked Finn, "Where's the dog?"
Finn kicked Lucas hard. "Where's the dog?"
Lucas spat out a mouthful of blood. Surprisingly, he had some backbone this time and spat at them. "I'm dead if I hand it over, and I'm dead if I don't. You might as well just kill me."
Nelson instantly breathed a sigh of relief. If Lucas was saying this, it meant Moonlight was still alive.
As long as she was alive, nothing else mattered.
He quickly made a promise. "As long as the dog is unharmed, I'll agree to whatever you want. Lucas, you better not test my patience."
Lucas, coughing up more blood from the kick, started laughing maniacally again. It sounded like the laugh of a gambler who had just hit the jackpot. He wiped the tears from his eyes, his teeth stained with blood. "Are you sure about that, Nelson? I want fifty million dollars, and I want to go abroad. I have friends overseas. Once I'm on a plane, someone will return the dog. Otherwise, tell Juniper to get ready for some dog meat soup."
Nelson wanted nothing more than to punch Lucas to death right then and there. How dare this guy!
But Lucas's eyes were filled with madness; he seemed to fear absolutely nothing.
Nelson took a deep breath and dialed Lydia's number. He gave her the address and told her to come over.
Lydia had no idea what was going on. Two bodyguards brought her directly from the Saint family's estate. She was shoved into the abandoned hall, and when she saw Lucas sprawled on the ground, she jumped. What had Lucas done this time?
She clenched her fists. Lucas knew too many secrets, including what happened at Blackwood Institute. Nelson still didn't know about that. Had Lucas spilled it?
She turned to look at Nelson's expression. He was furious, but he didn't look like someone who had just discovered the truth about that incident.
She let out a small breath of relief and confronted Lucas. "What did you do?"
