Scarlett shook her head, fighting the urge to close her eyes.
"No, I can't keep sleeping in. I used to be up at six every morning. Ever since we got together, I've gotten so lazy. I've gained three pounds recently! If I keep this up, I'm going to turn into a bear."
Julian laughed softly, lightly squeezing her arm. "Where exactly is this weight? Look at you. There's not an ounce of fat here. I want you to gain a little weight. You used to be so thin, a strong breeze could have blown you away."
Scarlett couldn't argue. She was hopelessly spoiled by him.
Julian's love wasn't just sweet talk; it was woven into a thousand quiet details. He was the man who secretly had ginseng soup simmered for her, and who handed her a perfectly warmed bowl of swiftlet's nectar the moment she woke up.
He had memorized her cycle, always making sure heating pads were ready before her period even started. He knew she had struggled with cold sensitivity and hadn't rested properly during her postpartum recovery, so every single night, he would press his large, warm palm gently against her lower abdomen as she slept.
Because of his constant, tender care, the agonizing cramps that used to plague her were practically a thing of the past.
To have a man love her like this—she was undoubtedly the luckiest woman in the world. Her love and reliance on Julian deepened with every passing day. Yet, a pragmatic part of her still gently reminded herself not to lose herself entirely in the romance.
Despite his protests for her to rest, Scarlett pushed herself out of bed and went to wash up.
They got ready quickly and headed straight to Croft Design Studio for the morning.
The man on the left wore a camel trench coat and sunglasses, pulling a black suitcase. The man on the right wore a sharp black trench coat, also sporting sunglasses, pulling a white suitcase.
Walking side by side, they looked like top-tier models fresh off a luxury runway. The sheer presence of them immediately drew the stares of everyone around.
"Mom! That's Stellan and Zachary! Your precious son is here!" Scarlett pointed at the tall, stoic man in the camel coat.
Jacqueline rubbed her eyes, as if terrified she was hallucinating. The second she confirmed it was really him, she broke into a run, throwing herself at Zachary and pulling him into a desperate, crushing hug.
She wailed, the sound raw and broken. Years of agony, separation, and torment shattered in an instant. Thinking of all the suffering she and her son had endured, a tidal wave of grief and relief washed over her, and she cursed Sean Bishop in her heart a thousand times over.
