Jacqueline stared at her with a perfectly composed expression. "What's so funny?"
Corinne clutched her stomach, barely able to suppress her cackling. Pointing at their linked hands, she announced loudly, "My god, Jacqueline, aren't you a little too old to be this shameless?"
"What is there to be ashamed of?" Jacqueline asked mildly.
Corinne sneered. "It's one thing to be a desperate cougar paying for a boy toy, but flaunting him out in public like this? Hand in hand? You really have zero self-awareness, do you?"
Melanie eagerly chimed in, "Exactly. You're an old woman, have some dignity. And to think, with your family's code of conduct being this trashy, Scarlett actually has the nerve to criticize the Flynn family? Pathetic."
Melanie's face was twisted in mockery, and she and Corinne exchanged a vile, synchronized laugh.
Jacqueline and Zachary exchanged a glance. They were completely unfazed, deciding the two women weren't even worth a breath. Fingers still interlaced, they turned and walked toward the hotel lobby.
Watching them walk away, completely dismissing them as if they were thin air, left Corinne and Melanie seething.
Melanie crossed her arms, grinding her teeth, though a flash of undeniable envy burned in her eyes. "Damn it. Those Langley women get all the luck. One bags Julian Croft, and this old hag manages to snag a guy that hot and sophisticated!"
Corinne was equally bitter. "Tell me about it! Jacqueline has always had an eye for attractive men. Sean was good-looking back in the day, but this young stud? He actually looks a bit like Sean used to! I guess her taste hasn't changed in decades."
