Julian knew he was being completely irrational, chalking it up to the standard paranoia of a man hopelessly in love, but the fear was always lingering in the background.

Watching Julian settle into the booth across the room, Scarlett turned back and lightly tapped the table. "Alright. Let's hear it."
Yardley slowly looked up at her.
It had only been a few days, but Scarlett looked even more vibrant than the last time he saw her.
Her complexion was flawless and radiant. She looked healthier, the chronic stress of their marriage entirely erased from her features. There was a soft, gorgeous curvature to her now that made her absolutely breathtaking—so luminous and alluring that it made his mouth go dry.
Yardley forced himself to swallow, his voice instinctively dropping to a softer cadence.
"I've made a decision. From now on, I am severing all ties with my toxic family members. I'm putting everything I have into pulling Flynn Group out of this death spiral."
Scarlett's expression remained perfectly neutral. "I'm glad you finally realized your family was destroying you. That's a huge step. But at the end of the day, that's Flynn family drama. You didn't need to call me here to tell me that."
"I know it's not your problem anymore," Yardley said, his voice tightening. "I just... I needed you to know that I understand where I went wrong. And I am changing."
Scarlett gave a slow nod. "Self-awareness is great. So, what's your actual business plan?"
Yardley leaned forward, dropping into executive mode. "I forced my father to sign over all of his shares and absolute voting rights. He's strictly collecting a pension now; he is entirely removed from management."
"My next move is an aggressive audit. I'm liquidating the bad debts, gutting our peripheral pet projects, and consolidating all our capital into our three core tech initiatives."
