He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 1081

Veronica Thorne's voice rang out from outside the doors.

Before anyone could react, she marched into the memorial hall, trailing a group of people behind her.

Seeing Scarlett Langley and Julian Croft holding little Dawn in the hall, Veronica paused in surprise before her voice took on a sharp, grating edge.

"Tsk, tsk. The old man just died, and you're already dragging the kid here to fight for the inheritance?"

"Aren't you being a bit too greedy, Scarlett? Wasn't the Croft family's wealth enough for you? Now you're eyeing the Flynn family's assets?"

Veronica glared at Scarlett with blatant disdain, looking smugly satisfied, as if she had completely seen through her intentions.

Scarlett replied coldly, "People with ugly souls see ugliness in everything. That perfectly describes someone like you."

Veronica paled. "Scarlett, you—!"

Bothering no further with her, Scarlett bypassed Veronica entirely, her gaze landing on the men in business suits holding laptops behind her. "Excuse me, but I must ask you to leave. Flynn Group is not yours to acquire."

The men exchanged uncertain, confused glances.

Yardley Flynn caught the underlying meaning in Scarlett's words and looked at her in absolute shock.

Veronica let out a harsh laugh, as if it were the funniest joke she'd ever heard, her face twisting into a deep sneer. "Are you kidding me, Scarlett?"
