He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 130

Gwen panicked, quickly pulling Sylvia into her arms and desperately trying to soothe her until her daughter finally caught her breath.

Yardley stood there utterly stunned, his body rigid.

His mother-in-law had beaten Sylvia? While Sylvia's son was in the hospital, Scarlett and her mother tracked her down just to assault her?

Were those two trying to turn the world upside down? What exactly were they trying to accomplish? Were they really trying to push Sylvia to the point of death?

A towering inferno of rage ignited in his chest. His blood boiled, and his already feverish mind felt dizzy with blinding fury.

He had actually been hoping for Jacqueline to return from her supposed vacation in Australia early.

He'd hoped that she would talk some sense into Scarlett, calm her down, and allow everyone to go back to living their lives in peace.

Noticing the tiny hospital gown and the ID bracelet wrapped around Dawn's wrist, his brain short-circuited.

He shook his head, looking at the scene in sheer disbelief. “Our daughter... she's... she's sick?”

Reality came crashing down on him. He wanted to slap himself.

He had been so blinded by his anger that it hadn't even registered to him until now: Scarlett and her mother wouldn't just be hanging around the pediatric ward for no reason. He was such a fucking idiot!

Panic set in, and Yardley instinctively rushed forward.

But Scarlett, clutching the baby she had just spent hours soothing to sleep, was devastated as she felt Dawn trembling violently and wailing.

She glared up at Yardley. Her rage hit an absolute breaking point.

In pure, unfiltered fury, she reached onto the table and grabbed the heavy thermal carafe she used for mixing formula—
