Scarlett doesn't even blink. She doesn't take a single step back. She knows that just a few feet away, a man is ready to protect her at a moment's notice.
Sure enough, before the cane can even come close to Scarlett, a massive hand shoots out and clamps down on Franklin's wrist like a steel vice.
Before Franklin can process what is happening, the cane clatters to the pavement. His arm is brutally twisted and pinned behind his back. He lets out a sharp wail of pain, his face turning the color of raw liver.
"Honey!"
"Franklin!"
"Dad!"
The women of the Flynn family scream out in unison.
Corinne is beside herself with rage. She points a trembling finger at Scarlett, stamping her foot, though she doesn't dare take a step closer. "Scarlett, what... what are you trying to do?! Tell him to let go right now!"
Eleanor bursts into tears, her wrinkled face pale with distress. "Scarlett, why are you doing this? Is there anything we can't discuss as a family? How can you barge in here and attack your father-in-law like this?"
Yardley's pupils dilate. He is reeling in shock. He had never known any of this, and Scarlett had never mentioned a word of it to him.
Scarlett then points toward the blooming, vibrant flowerbeds on the other side of the garden. "And that spot... Melanie, you remember, don't you? Your precious dog got wet in the rain while I was walking it for you. You were so furious you slapped me across the face over a dozen times and pushed me into the dirt."
"And Clarissa, you blamed me for crushing your flowers. You made me replant them, demanding they look exactly as before, not a single petal out of place. I rushed over after work every day to fix them. It was pouring rain, and you just stood at your second-floor window, watching me get drenched. You didn't even bother telling a maid to bring me an umbrella..."
As she speaks, Scarlett's eyes blaze with a fierce, burning hatred.
