Yardley had clearly come prepared.
This supplemental agreement was an entirely new tactic, one so convoluted and manipulative that it left Scarlett utterly speechless.
Just reading the first few paragraphs was enough to make her heart pound with rage.
She slammed the document down onto the table.
"Tell me, Yardley, what is it that you actually want?"
"Just say what you're really after. There's no need to pretend you're a devoted father who cares about his daughter. It makes me sick!"
Staring at the pages filled with legal jargon centered around Dawn's 'rights'—which was, in reality, total bullshit—she felt a suffocating wave of fury.
This was a man who had publicly dismissed his own child as a bastard.
A man who hadn't lifted a single finger during her pregnancy or when Dawn was born.
And now that they were on the brink of divorce, he was using these ridiculous clauses to chain her down!
Scarlett felt like she was going to explode.
Seeing her seething with anger, Yardley remained entirely unruffled.
He tapped a finger against the document, his tone as casual as if they were discussing a standard business deal.
"My demands are simple, just the points listed in this addendum. And frankly, I think they're more than reasonable."
"First, you can have primary custody of our daughter, and I'll agree to the two hundred million you asked for in compensation. However, those funds will be placed into a growth trust fund for Dawn. Furthermore, if you ever remarry, full custody must unconditionally revert to me. Otherwise, the trust fund will be permanently frozen."
Scarlett froze, her gaze turning icy. "Are you trying to financially blackmail me?"
