At that moment, Julian carried out the food he had just prepared.
The mouthwatering aroma immediately filled the suite, drawing all three pairs of eyes.
"Dinner's ready."
Julian set the dishes on the suite's custom dining table and walked briskly over to Scarlett.
"How are you feeling? Any better?"
Scarlett nodded. "Much better."
Julian didn't press further. He immediately invited Jacqueline and Elara to join them.
Spread across the table was a comforting, appetizing spread. Julian introduced them one by one.
"Rib Soup, Beef Stew with Potatoes, Minced Pork with Eggplant, and some steamed prawns."
Looking at the beautifully prepared, fragrant meal, Scarlett felt a surge of complex emotions.
Julian was truly attentive. His kindness was the sort that quietly seeped into the cracks, nourishing everything it touched.
Whoever ended up as his girlfriend in the future was going to be incredibly lucky.
It was a shame Sylvia hadn't realized how blessed she was during their marriage... anyone else would have been over the moon.
While Scarlett was lost in thought, Jacqueline was already singing his praises.
"Julian, you are far too impressive. Not only are you brilliant at your job, but you can cook like a chef, too! Elara, how did you manage to raise such a perfect son?"
Elara's eyes sparkled with pride.
"We made him start cooking his own meals when he was six. If he didn't cook, he didn't eat."
"I raised you to be so outstanding, you could have matched with the daughter of any top family in the country. Back then, when you suddenly announced you were marrying Sylvia, I had my doubts. But I figured maybe you'd developed real feelings for her from working together... If I had just asked a few more questions and looked into it back then, maybe none of this would have happened."
Even now, Elara was consumed by regret. She had been meticulous her entire life, only to drop the ball when it came to her son's marriage, leading to such a bitter outcome. It was a hard pill to swallow.
Hearing this, Jacqueline also set down her silverware and let out a heavy sigh.
"I'm the same. If I had just put my foot down and stopped Scarlett from taking that internship at Flynn Group, maybe none of this would have happened either. As a mother, I really failed her."
Watching both mothers spiral into guilt and regret, Scarlett and Julian exchanged helpless glances, at a loss for words.
Just then, a loud commotion erupted from the hallway.
Scarlett could faintly hear a woman shouting at the top of her lungs.
"Who authorized her to be in this suite? She doesn't have the clearance! Transfer her out this instant!"
