He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 484

Mr. Shaw waved his hands in panic, quickly pasting on an apologetic smile. "No, no, no, Mr. Croft! Please rest assured! We would never leak a patient's private information, never!"

Julian looked puzzled, resting his chin in his hand as he fell into thought. "Why on earth would she want Dawn's medical records out of the blue?"

Scarlett's expression hardened. She grabbed Mr. Shaw by the collar of his shirt, her voice sharp. "Listen to me. I chose Mercy International specifically for its standard of care. If any of you carelessly leak my daughter's medical privacy, I swear I won't let you get away with it!"

"Ms. Langley, you have absolutely nothing to worry about!" Mr. Shaw stammered, sweat beading on his forehead. "I came over here specifically to instruct Dr. Fischer that no matter how much Ms. Thorne demands it, she must absolutely not hand over those records!"

Scarlett darted forward, helplessly pulling her daughter into a tight embrace, tears of pure joy streaming down her face.

"Baby, you're going to be okay! You don't have leukemia! Thank God!"

Even though Talia didn't run with the high-society crowd, her work in fashion design meant she dressed many of the city's elites. She knew their backgrounds like the back of her hand and was privy to plenty of their hidden secrets.

Veronica's sudden attempt to pull Dawn's medical files had left Scarlett feeling deeply unsettled.

So, on her way to the hospital, she had texted Talia, asking her to dig into Veronica's background.

Knowing Talia, she must have unearthed something crucial to be calling at this exact moment.

Scarlett was just about to hand her daughter over when Julian, reading her mind, reached out and securely scooped Dawn into his own arms.

Clutching her phone, Scarlett quickly stepped out into the hallway. The second she answered, Talia's high-decibel gasp blasted through the speaker—
