He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 547

Scarlett and Jacqueline pushed Dawn's stroller, insisting on personally walking Julian's parents to the entrance of Mercy International Hospital.

Julian had gone to the VIP garage to pull the car around, so the four of them lingered by the front gates.

After days of bonding, Dominic and Elara were incredibly reluctant to leave. Elara, already tearing up, couldn't help but carefully lift Dawn out of the stroller, pulling the baby into a tight embrace and nuzzling her soft cheek.

Elara looked over at Jacqueline, practically begging.

"I just adore this little angel. She's far too precious. Jacqueline, are you absolutely sure you won't reconsider letting us stay a little longer to help out?"

Jacqueline was firm but warm.

"Absolutely not. You and Dominic have already sacrificed so much of your time, we feel terrible. We couldn't possibly impose any longer."

"Elara, your health is delicate as it is, and even though Dominic has stepped back from the frontline, he's still running a dozen boards. You have your own lives. I won't hear of us monopolizing your time."

Knowing she couldn't win an argument with Jacqueline, Elara sighed theatrically.

"Jacqueline, listen to yourself! You're treating me like a complete stranger!"

"I genuinely love Dawn, and besides, she's my god-granddaughter now. What's the harm in a grandmother wanting to pamper her grandchild for a few extra days? It's my absolute pleasure!"

...

Standing off to the side, Scarlett watched the two matriarchs bicker over who got to spoil Dawn, finding the whole thing deeply amusing—and incredibly moving.

Dawn had become the absolute center of gravity for both families. Not only did Julian's parents worship the ground the baby crawled on, but Scarlett was genuinely shocked by her own mother's 'doting grandma' routine.

Growing up, Jacqueline had ruled the Langley household with an iron fist. She was the definition of tough love.

But now? The second Dawn flashed a toothless grin, Jacqueline melted into a puddle, ready to buy the infant a small island.

Scarlett laughed softly.
