He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 551

Hearing him finally cave and agree to the divorce, Scarlett's blood simmered for a split second before she forced herself back to icy calm.

Her tone was level, though laced with a hint of mockery. "Alright, let's hear it. What are your conditions this time?"

"Hand over the Thorne Industries collaboration to me. Also, destroy all the evidence you have that's detrimental to the Flynn Group. Do that, and we'll head straight to City Hall to finalize the paperwork."

She fell silent for a few seconds, raising her eyes to meet his. "Are you serious?"

"Yes, of course," Yardley replied. "Everything else remains the same, including the additional conditions I mentioned before."

Scarlett was momentarily stunned into silence.

The next second, she grabbed her coffee cup off the table and hurled its contents right at him without a shred of hesitation. "Yardley, the sheer audacity you have!"

Having learned his lesson from the last time, he dodged quickly. The coffee missed his face entirely, splashing against the wall behind him.

He looked at her, utterly baffled. "Isn't a divorce exactly what you want? I've agreed to it. What more could you possibly be dissatisfied with?"

As far as he was concerned, she was only in such a rush to finalize things so she could openly be with Julian. Given that, he felt his concessions were already incredibly generous.

Scarlett stared at him, a deeply cynical smile curling her lips. "Oh, I'm satisfied. I'm beyond satisfied. I couldn't possibly be more thrilled."

"...Then shall we meet at City Hall first thing tomorrow morning?" Yardley asked.

She glared at him, her gaze sharp as a knife, practically piercing right through him.

When she didn't answer, he pressed on. "Or, if you think tomorrow is too far away, we can head back from Sutton City right now. If we leave immediately, we can still make it in time to file the paperwork today."

Scarlett burst into laughter, her smile turning even more caustic. "No... I've changed my mind."

Yardley fell silent.
