He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 570

Julian took a deep, steadying breath, fighting through the sharp pain in his ribs to force a reassuring smile.

"The car mirror just clipped my side. It hurts, but nothing's broken. I'm fine."

Hearing this, Elara anxiously lifted the hem of his shirt. Seeing the angry, dark purple bruise already forming on his ribs made her panic. "It's already bruised! How is this not serious?! I'm calling an ambulance right now!"

After helping Julian to the sidewalk, she frantically pulled out her phone to dial emergency services.

Julian gently stopped her. "Mom, it's just a scrape. It's fine. Let's deal with the real problem first."

His gaze turned icy as he locked eyes with Corinne and her group. Clutching his side, he took two slow steps toward them.

"If my eyes didn't deceive me, you deliberately shoved Dawn into the middle of the street, didn't you?"

Julian had been about fifty yards away when it happened. Because of the crowd, he hadn't seen everything perfectly, but he clearly saw Corinne shove Scarlett out of the way right before the stroller flew into traffic.

Corinne was frozen in shock, finally realizing the horrifying magnitude of what she had just done.

"No... it wasn't me..." she stammered, instinctively waving her hands in denial.

The crowd of onlookers was absolutely livid. An older woman holding shopping bags stepped out and yelled at Julian, "You're the baby's father, right?!"

"I'll gladly testify! It was this crazy old witch who shoved your daughter into the street!"

The moment the woman spoke, Yardley's face went completely black. He stepped forward, his voice cold and hard. "He isn't the father. I am."

The crowd gasped collectively. Given Yardley's obvious connection to Corinne's group and their striking facial resemblance, it took the onlookers less than a second to connect the dots.
