The horrifying scene left the entire crowd utterly paralyzed!
Scarlett was shoved hard, stumbling as her hands were ripped from the stroller's handlebars. Seeing the stroller careening out of control toward the oncoming traffic, her mind practically exploded.
"Dawn!"
Scarlett, Jacqueline, Elara, and Zara all screamed in unison.
They lunged to grab the stroller, but Corinne's psychotic shove had been incredibly forceful. The stroller picked up speed rapidly. Caught off guard, all the women were a fraction of a second too late!
As the stroller rolled toward the fast-moving cars, Scarlett felt the world collapse around her. She threw herself forward with zero regard for her own safety.
Just then, two tall figures darted out from the sides like lightning.
It was Yardley and Julian.
They had just parked their cars and were walking toward the restaurant entrance when they witnessed the terrifying ordeal. Hearing the terrified screams and realizing Dawn was in the stroller, both men sprinted toward the street at full speed.
It was rush hour. The traffic wasn't moving at highway speeds, but the road was packed with cars.
Julian didn't hesitate for a microsecond. Waving his arms wildly and shouting to force the oncoming cars to slam on their brakes, he sprinted straight for the stroller.
Yardley instinctively moved to throw himself into the street as well, but multiple hands clamped down on his arms, dragging him back.
"Yardley! It's too dangerous! Don't go!"
"Exactly! Let Julian handle it! Don't risk your life!"
It was Melanie, Sylvia, and Clarissa pulling him back. Not a single one of them cared if the baby in the stroller lived or died. They only cared about protecting Yardley from getting a scratch.
Shocked and furious, Yardley violently ripped his arms out of their grip. "Let go of me, damn it! That's my daughter!"
