At first, he thought the bizarre laughter was some kind of twisted prank from Scarlett.
But as he listened to the entire recording, the reality sank in. The person using the voice changer to hurl those psychotic threats was none other than Sylvia.
He was far too familiar with her speech patterns and cadence. Even masked by a distorted male tone, he knew Scarlett was right—it was Sylvia.
And according to the conversation, Sylvia was actually using Kane Stetson to hunt down Scarlett's friends?!
Yardley couldn't sit still. Ignoring the confused stares of his guests, he grabbed his phone, his face darkening with fury, and stormed out of the private dining room.
He was just about to call Sylvia when Scarlett’s number flashed on his screen.
Taking a deep breath at the sight of her familiar name, Yardley answered. "Scar—"
Before he could even finish her name, Scarlett's furious voice blasted through the speaker.
"You heard the recording, didn't you, Yardley?"
"Let me make one thing crystal clear. Whatever feud exists between me, you, and your entire family—you bring it to me! Do not dare touch the people I love!"
"If anything happens to Talia in Tyrellia, I will bury every single one of you with her!"
"I don't care what you have to do, but you better make sure Talia gets back home safely. Do you hear me?!"
Scarlett had never yelled so viciously. Her rage was absolute.
Stunned by her explosive outburst, Yardley froze for a few seconds before his expression turned ice-cold.
"Scarlett, I heard the recording."
"But I need to verify if this is actually Sylvia's doing. Give me a minute to ask her. Just try to stay calm."
Yardley hung up and immediately dialed Sylvia's number.
