He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 648

Talia was in Kane's hands, all the way in Tyrellia. No matter how much power Scarlett wielded in Country H, her reach didn't extend that far!

In this game, Scarlett was the one backed into a corner. Sylvia held all the cards.

She absolutely wasn't going to let Scarlett force the answers out of her.

She wanted to watch Scarlett break down, inch by inch, until she was on her knees begging...

Pushing past her initial panic, Sylvia cemented her resolve and sneered.

"Keep hitting me, Scarlett. I dare you. But I promise you this..."

"If you so much as lay another finger on me, your best friend is going to suffer a hundred—no, a thousand times worse!"

"Let me clue you in. Kane bought me this villa! The security system is rigged. The moment I say the activation phrase, Kane will be connected live, and he'll see exactly what's happening in this room!"

"If you want your best friend to suffer even more creatively, then by all means, go ahead."

Sylvia spat out a mouthful of blood.

With a grotesque, triumphant smile, she pulled out her phone and shoved the screen in Scarlett's face, playing the video Kane had sent her.

Scarlett's eyes widened in horror, her blood running instantly cold.

When she saw the video of the disheveled woman being pinned to the ground by several men as they ruthlessly shocked her with stun batons, Scarlett's mind went completely blank.

Tears spilled uncontrollably down her cheeks.

It felt as if a giant, invisible hand had reached into her chest and crushed her heart. The sheer suffocation of the moment drowned her in despair.

She slowly let go of Sylvia's collar, her voice breaking into a desperate plea.

"What do you want? What do I have to do to make you tell Kane to let her go?"

Sylvia's smile grew even more wicked upon hearing those words.

Julian was stunned. He couldn't believe this fiercely strong, unyielding woman was actually bowing her head in surrender.

He stepped forward instinctively, about to intervene, when Scarlett quickly looked up and shot him a very specific look.

Catching the hidden meaning in her eyes, Julian stopped. He didn't argue. He exchanged a quick glance with Stellan, and the two men promptly walked out, shutting the heavy front door behind them.

Seeing the two intimidating men leave, Sylvia’s lingering fear evaporated. She looked down at Scarlett with an expression of pure, toxic arrogance.

"On your knees. Slap yourself twenty times. Let me enjoy the show. Do it!"

Without a moment's hesitation, Scarlett dropped hard to her knees.

She lowered her eyes, took a deep breath, and raised her hands. With ruthless force, she began slapping her own face, alternating cheeks, twenty times in rapid succession.

"Now," Scarlett said, her voice eerily calm, "can you tell me where Kane took her?"

As she spoke, her right hand was secretly buried deep inside her pocket. Without Sylvia noticing, she had blindly dialed a number...
