He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 82

He lifted his wrist to check his watch.

"I have some business to attend to, so I should get going. Enjoy the rest of your shopping. I'll see you around."

Scarlett and Talia quickly said their goodbyes, watching as he turned and strode away with brisk, confident steps.

Talia covered her mouth in shock, letting out a dramatic gasp that could have woken the dead. "Oh my god! How is any man allowed to be that gorgeous?"

"His face, his hair, his skin, his build, his vibe... every single thing about him is absolute top-tier perfection! Sylvia Stetson really hit the jackpot, getting to marry a guy like that and have his baby! Lord have mercy!"

"If I could marry a man like that, I'd wait on him hand and foot every single day. I'd do whatever he wanted. I'd be waiting bare in his bed every night. I wouldn't waste a single second."

Scarlett frowned at her, torn between amusement and exasperation. "Talia, get a grip. Stop drooling over the man."

Talia practically squealed. "Are you kidding me? How can you be so calm when a guy that hot is standing right in front of you? If he went to Hollywood, he'd obliterate every A-list actor out there!"

Scarlett was already immune to her friend's celebrity-crush antics. Talia always acted like she'd never seen a decent-looking man in her life whenever a handsome guy crossed her path.

Curious about what Julian had gifted Dawn, Scarlett opened the small bag and pulled out a delicate crimson box.

She assumed it would be a simple trinket, but when she snapped the lid open, she found a stunning, translucent red jadeite safety pendant resting inside. The rich, vibrant red lay quietly against the velvet, making even the modest little box look incredibly luxurious.

Scarlett knew enough about jewelry to recognize that a piece of this caliber was worth a small fortune. It was likely equivalent to several years of an average person's salary.

This was far too expensive. She hadn't expected Julian to be so incredibly generous.

"Scarlett, I've seen plenty of green pendants, but this red one... it's incredibly rare! And the clarity is just unbelievable. The color is so pure, and it carries such a wonderful blessing for safety."

"Oh my god, my crush is so generous and has such amazing taste! I'm officially in love," Talia gushed dramatically, making Scarlett burst into laughter.

She quickly closed the box, her heart skipping a beat.
