He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 847

Jacqueline's words struck like a physical slap across the faces of Corinne and Melanie.

Shaking with rage, Melanie shrieked, "You old bat, how dare you speak to my mother like that?! Do you honestly think I won't—"

"You won't what? You think you own the world?"

Before Melanie could finish, Talia's furious voice echoed from the entryway.

The front door had been left open. Talia and Chatwin marched into the living room, trailed closely by several massive bodyguards in sharp black suits. The men immediately formed a protective wall around Jacqueline, physically blocking Corinne's hired muscle.

Chatwin adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses, his briefcase in hand. He radiated the cold, intimidating aura of an elite lawyer.

"Talia, Chatwin. Scarlett is dead. I suggest you mind your own business," Melanie sneered, crossing her arms.

Ignoring her entirely, Chatwin walked straight up to Jacqueline. "Ms. Langley. My apologies for the delay. Are you alright?"

Standing tall, Jacqueline replied firmly, "I'm fine. They wouldn't dare touch me."

"I'm glad you're here. They've been trying to quote the law at me. Why don't you give them a proper lesson?"
