Julian was incredibly tall and built. The towel, which would have been plenty large for an average woman, was barely enough to cover him.
However, after the cold shower, he had managed to cool his racing thoughts. Standing bare-chested in front of Scarlett with nothing but a pink towel, he didn’t look embarrassed at all; instead, he carried himself with effortless composure.
He picked up a hairdryer and casually began drying his dark hair.
Noticing Scarlett staring in a bit of a daze, he offered a gentle reminder. "I'm done, Scarlett. Your turn."
"I ran a bath for you. I noticed you had milk bath and rose petals on the shelf, so I added some. Take your time and relax."
His tone was so natural and domestic, they could have easily been an old married couple who had spent years taking care of each other.
Scarlett had felt a fleeting moment of awkwardness seeing him like that, but Julian's steady, grounding presence instantly put her at ease.
She had just washed her hair the night before, so she clipped it up and softly replied, "Okay. I'll go wash up."
Scarlett pushed the bathroom door open.
Just as he said, the large tub was full. The water was a milky white, sprinkled with delicate pink rose petals.
Julian’s attention to detail was incredible. After showering, he had wiped down the glass and counters, folded his used towel perfectly, and placed it neatly in the hamper. Every single thing he touched had been returned exactly to where he found it. The bathroom was so impeccably clean, it barely looked like anyone had just used it.
Not only that, but he had placed her slippers right by the tub, set out a shower cap on the shelf, and meticulously dried the edge of the bathtub so she would have a dry spot to set her phone.
Looking at the perfectly prepared room, Scarlett’s eyes grew slightly misty.
These tiny details... During her six years with Yardley, she had reminded him endlessly to clean up after himself, and not once had he ever done it. If she brought it up too often, he would just call her a nag and complain that she was making a big deal out of nothing. To Yardley, those were tasks for the maid; he never felt the need to lift a finger.
