He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 89

Inevitably, the wall of muscle stationed at the door aggressively forced Scarlett back inside.

The situation was incredibly dire.

Scarlett immediately dialed Stellan's number, her voice thick with panic and tears. "Stellan, my best friend Talia is in trouble! She just called me begging for help, saying she's bleeding everywhere. You have to find her immediately, please, you have to save her!"

"Understood, Miss. Please try to stay calm. Send me Ms. Gray's contact details right now, and I will dispatch my men immediately," Stellan replied with perfect professionalism.

Scarlett frantically texted Talia's phone number, ID details, and everything else she could think of to Stellan.

Hanging up, she paced the living room like a caged animal, her heart pounding frantically against her ribs as anxiety consumed her.

Stellan's efficiency was nothing short of miraculous. In less than ten minutes, his name flashed on her screen again.

"We found her, Miss. She was in the underground parking garage of The Grandview. Someone dragged her into a blind spot away from the security cameras and beat her unconscious with a baton. The assailants nearly attempted sexual assault, but thankfully, my team intervened just in time."

A cold, violent fury erupted in Scarlett's chest. "What?! Someone actually orchestrated a brutal attack like that in broad daylight?!"

"Stellan, get her to the hospital immediately. You must investigate this. I need to know exactly who ordered this hit on Talia!"

"Understood, Miss. I'm on it," Stellan assured her.

Scarlett took a deep breath. "Right now, Yardley has me locked inside Orchard Villa. There are six bodyguards stationed outside the front door. Stellan, I need you to get me out of here. I have to go to the hospital to see her."

"Consider it done. I'll make the arrangements immediately."

Half an hour later.

Stellan sent a brief text. The obstacles had been cleared, and she was free to come out.

Scarlett grabbed her purse and pushed the heavy front door open without a hint of hesitation. The massive, intimidating bodyguards who had blocked her path earlier were now scattered across the driveway, groaning and clutching their bruised limbs.

Parked elegantly just beyond them was a sleek Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The door swung open, and Stellan stood beside it, giving a respectful, gentlemanly bow as he gestured for her to get in.

Scarlett slid into the backseat, and the luxury car tore off toward the hospital.

"Mr. Flynn, I've prepared everything just as you asked. The salmon, the Hokkaido chocolates, and the soufflé from that bakery she loves with the massive lines," Leah reported, her tone respectful and slightly amused. "Oh, and I also made sure to simmer some nutritious soup to help her regain her strength. Is there anything else you'd like me to pick up? I'm at the grocery store right now."

Yardley's voice was deep and commanding. "She enjoys a good salad. Pick up some ice plant and endive for a light vinaigrette. And make sure to grab some imported durian and cherries. They're her favorites."

Leah chuckled warmly. "You are so thoughtful, Mr. Flynn. I'm sure she'll come to her senses soon enough."

A faint, self-satisfied smile touched Yardley's lips as he hung up without further comment.

He leaned back in his leather chair, the memory of Scarlett's harsh, unyielding glare flashing through his mind, bringing a brief wave of melancholy.

She truly didn't realize how good she had it.

In this day and age, how many men would memorize their wife's exact dietary preferences, or swallow their pride to continuously placate her after she threw massive tantrums? He was arguably one in a million.

Yet, despite how accommodating he was being, Scarlett was only growing more arrogant and unappreciative.

She kept throwing the word divorce in his face, but he didn't buy it for a second. It was just a tactic. She was making a scene purely to force him to pay more attention to her.
