He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 111

Sebastian pressed his lips together, his teeth lightly grazing Helena's ear in a move that seemed falsely intimate.

But Helena knew this wasn't seduction. It was a warning.

Her skin was sensitive, and the slight scrape of his teeth sent a sharp jolt of pain through her cartilage.

If Sebastian bit down any harder, she would bleed.

Just like Wynn's precarious hold on life. If she didn't obey, Wynn could die at any moment.

A faint, suffocating despair flickered in Helena's eyes. She couldn't afford to gamble.

"I understand," she replied quietly, lowering her head in resignation.

"Good girl. I'm going to the study to handle some business. Go get some sleep, alright?" Sebastian finally released her.

Helena nodded without a word and walked quietly toward the master bedroom.

Sebastian stood there, one hand tucked into his pocket, watching her retreating figure with a completely unreadable expression.

Only when she disappeared from view did he turn and head toward his study.

It was the demeanor of a man holding all the cards. He would never allow a single misstep in his absolute control over Helena.

Just as Sebastian finished up his corporate emails, Beau Sterling called.

He answered casually. "Calling me this late?"

Beau's tone was teasing. "You've actually been staying home these past few days? Carter mentioned you've been working remotely. You haven't even visited Janetta. What sparked this sudden domestic phase?"

"Nothing. I burned my hand and didn't want to alarm Janetta, so I'm staying home until it heals," he lied smoothly, without batting an eye.

Beau clicked his tongue, seemingly unconvinced. "You didn't rush back because of Helena?"

"Bullshit," Sebastian denied immediately.

Before Beau could respond, Sebastian added with a cruel edge, "Helena doesn't have the leverage to make me come back. Making her behave is effortless. She just needs a little coaxing, and she falls right back in line. What kind of tricks could she possibly play? Making all that noise was just her way of begging for my attention. And look, hasn't she obediently returned?"

Every word dripped with Sebastian's absolute disdain and his need for dominance over Helena.

Faced with his arrogant cruelty, Beau remained noncommittal. "Just don't play with fire."
