"She's pregnant, and you backed her into such a tight corner that she had to flee the country. Are you happy now?"
"
"Helena, how can a woman be as wicked as you? You're Mrs. Hayes now. You threatened me with the shares, and I kept my end of the bargain. What more do you want?"
Sebastian's rapid-fire accusations left Helena completely speechless, largely because she had no idea what was going on.
Why on earth did her phone show a history of calls with Janetta?
She was too shocked to form a sentence.
Her face grew paler by the second. She parted her lips, trying to speak multiple times, but the words died in her throat.
"Helena." His voice dropped an octave, dripping with menace.
The smell of alcohol and tobacco hit her face, making her stomach churn violently.
Thanks to the pregnancy, her sensitivity to smells was at an all-time high.
A wave of nausea violently clawed its way up her throat.
Helena needed to throw up.
But his hand shifted, wrapping firmly around her throat, choking the nausea back down.
The baby inside her reacted, kicking frantically against her ribs.
Sebastian's ruthless, cutting words rang in her ears. "If anything happens to her, I will make you pay with your life."
As soon as the words left his mouth, she saw his gaze drop to her stomach.
The violent intent in his eyes was unmistakable.
"And as for this baby in your belly, I'll make sure you watch him die a slow, agonizing death the second the shares are transferred," he sneered, utterly merciless.
Helena was struck with pure horror.
She stared at him, her eyes wide with disbelief.
She knew he didn't love her, but this baby was his own flesh and blood.
How could he say something so deeply vile?
Did human life mean absolutely nothing to him? Would he really not spare a single drop of mercy?
"Sebastian, this is your own flesh and blood!" she screamed, snapping out of her shock.
