When had Janetta Ramirez ever been treated like garbage?
The crushing humiliation made her throat burn.
It took everything in her not to let the massive tears spill down her cheeks.
Beau noticed her shaking.
"Eat something. The food overseas is awful anyway," Beau offered, gently placing some meat on her plate.
Janetta gave a pathetic sniff. "Thanks."
She was fighting the overwhelming urge to run out of the room.
Sebastian had engineered this entire nightmare just to force her back to the country.
She sure as hell wasn't going to just hand him over to Helena without a fight.
So she stayed glued to her chair.
She convinced herself he was just throwing a tantrum to punish her, not that he actually stopped loving her.
Lowering her eyes, she kept her mouth shut, hiding her desperate calculations perfectly.
The vibe in the room wasn't a total war zone, but it was incredibly tense.
The rest of the guys in their golfing clique had obviously heard that Beau was in the building.
One by one, they popped into the VIP room to pay their respects to the Sterling family boss.
But the second they saw Janetta sitting there, every single one of them froze awkwardly.
They were all polished billionaires, so they quickly plastered on fake smiles and kept things civil.
Helena, however, was rapidly losing her patience with the endless parade of fake pleasantries.
She abruptly pushed her chair back and stood up.
Sebastian's predatory gaze instantly snapped to her.
"Where are you going?" he demanded.
"To get some fresh air," she answered bluntly.
"I'll go with you," he said, immediately standing up to follow.
She stared at him, her irritation finally boiling over.
Janetta was literally right here. Why was he still dragging this exhausting charade out?
Wasn't he tired?
"No need. I can walk by myself," she rejected him flat out.
Then she let out a dry, mocking laugh. "Besides, Ms. Ramirez just flew halfway across the world for you. Shouldn't you be keeping her company?"
Her words were basically wrapping him in a bow and tossing him right into his mistress's lap.
