He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 270

It didn't affect her in the slightest.

"I'll have someone look into the soundproofing tomorrow," he replied, his tone chillingly dismissive. "Go back to sleep."

She just stared at him, completely ignoring the command. Her defiant gaze fueled the rising irritation in his chest.

"Is she still out there?" Helena suddenly smiled, asking with forced lightness.

Sebastian's brow furrowed. He knew exactly who she was talking about, and her smug attitude only enraged him further. But he maintained his stony composure, staring her down with glacial eyes.

"The rain in Riverton never stops once it gets going, and the forecast has been awful lately. From the looks of it, this storm is only going to get worse," she remarked casually, intentionally poking the bear. She didn't care about his thunderous expression. She kept her eyes locked on his, eager to push him over the edge.

"She's so fragile, and she's pregnant. Her due date isn't that far off from mine, is it?" she taunted softly. "If she stays out there freezing, something is bound to happen. Best case scenario, she catches a nasty fever. Worst case... she might lose the baby."

She delivered the brutal assessment without a hint of emotion.

Sebastian's eyes turned lethal. He didn't blink as he slowly advanced toward the bed, stopping right at the edge. Helena met his furious stare with arrogant defiance, refusing to back down. She knew exactly what she was doing. Once the words were out, there was no taking them back. She wasn't hiding her intentions—she was brazenly testing his limits, desperate to figure out what his endgame was. His bizarre, conflicting behavior was weaponizing both her and Janetta, and she was sick of it. If she had to be miserable, she was going to drag everyone down with her. Why should she be the only one suffering?

"Helena, did you ever plan on living a normal life with me?" he growled, his voice vibrating with barely contained rage.
