Sebastian answered the call immediately.
"Mr. Hayes, Julian Campbell is at the hospital," Carter Miles said, bracing himself for the reaction.
"Which hospital?" Sebastian's voice dropped to a dangerous octave.
"The Sanctuary Hospital..." Carter finished, his tone resigned.
Sebastian's expression darkened instantly.
This was a blatant provocation from Julian.
Janetta was currently staying at The Sanctuary Hospital.
Julian wasn't even trying to hide it. The move was brazen.
He had absolutely no regard for Sebastian.
"Get control of Wynn Wallace," Sebastian ordered Carter coldly.
Wynn was Helena's lifeline.
As long as Sebastian had Wynn in his grasp, Helena wouldn't dare pull any stunts.
So what if Julian was backing her?
Would the prestigious Campbell family really turn a blind eye to this kind of scandal?
Sebastian's gaze turned predatory as the thought crossed his mind.
"Right away," Carter quickly replied.
Then the line went dead.
Without a second of hesitation, Sebastian dialed the Campbell patriarch.
As the phone rang, he whipped his car around and sped toward the hospital.
The moment the call connected, Sebastian dispensed with the pleasantries.
"Donovan, I wasn't aware Julian had a penchant for stealing other men's wives. If word gets out, I imagine Coralia's scandal headlines will be quite colorful today," Sebastian threatened, his voice laced with ice.
Without waiting for a response, he ended the call.
Twenty minutes later, his car screeched to a halt outside the hospital entrance.
...
Inside the hospital room.
Helena woke up in a hazy daze.
Almost out of pure instinct, her hands flew to protect her stomach.
Feeling the familiar curve of her belly and the soft, reassuring flutter of the baby kicking against her palms, a breath shuddered past her lips.
The baby was safe.
She had repeated that bitter truth to herself countless times.
She was determined to leave.
After all, a relationship crowded by three people was suffocating.
She was done being the one begging for scraps of affection.
It was too degrading.
But reality rarely aligned with her desires; there was always some new complication chaining her down.
Thinking of everything she had endured, Helena lowered her eyes, her grip on the glass tightening even further.
But this time, she was absolutely certain she wouldn't stay.
They had already signed The Divorce Agreement.
Julian didn't seem bothered by her continued silence.
He continued in an unhurried, methodical tone. "He's only playing nice right now to provoke Janetta. The moment Janetta comes back, there won't be a place for you."
"..."
"Take today, for instance. The second Janetta is in trouble, you're the first one he abandons. He's willing to risk everything for her, but he leaves you lying alone in a pool of your own blood?"
Julian's words were cruel, but they were the unvarnished truth.
