He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 336

When she looked at him, all the fight was gone; she just stared in quiet resignation.

Sebastian didn't look away.

But neither of them spoke.

She lay against the pillows, and he stood tall beside her bed.

The silence in the room was suffocating.

Finally, Helena broke it. "Sebastian, please. Just let me go see Wynn. I won't do anything crazy. I just need to see how he's doing."

She wasn't screaming. She wasn't hysterical. She was genuinely, desperately begging him.

For months, Helena had been nothing but defiant.

Defiant enough that it made Sebastian want to crush her pride and clip her wings.

It was a dark, twisted urge.

He had wanted to see her break down and beg for mercy.

But now that she was actually doing it, he realized he didn't feel any satisfaction at all.

Because the light in her eyes was completely gone.

They no longer burned with that fierce fire.

Even her voice was unnervingly hollow as she spoke to him.

"I'm begging you. I just need to know if he's still alive," she pleaded softly.

Tears began to pool in her eyes, threatening to spill over.

"Worry about yourself, and stop trying to take matters into your own hands," Sebastian replied, his face darkening.

It was impossible to tell if it was an agreement or a rejection.

His towering frame stepped closer to her bed.

Helena didn't react. She just kept murmuring as if talking to herself.

"Wynn is the only family I have left. We're twins. He's protected me since we were little—he always took the hit whenever there was danger. Even when everything fell apart with the Wallace family, he was the one shielding me. If it wasn't for that, he wouldn't be in this state."

Her gaze was completely vacant as she spoke.

She wasn't paying any attention to Sebastian's reaction; she was just incredibly numb.

"As long as Wynn is alive, I have hope. If he's gone, I don't know what I'm even fighting for anymore."

It was unclear if she was saying this for her own sake, or for his.

Surprisingly, Sebastian didn't snap at her. He just stood there, quietly listening.
