Beau Sterling relayed everything he knew to Sebastian Hayes.
Sebastian remained uncharacteristically quiet.
In his mind, an image played on a loop: Julian Campbell holding Helena's hand, his gaze soft as they looked at each other.
"Are you familiar with the CEO of IGM?" Sebastian asked suddenly.
Beau was caught off guard by the pivot. "You're changing the subject pretty fast. Isn't your whole reason for being in Coralia to meet with IGM's CEO?"
"Yes," Sebastian didn't deny it.
"I'm not too familiar with her. IGM only rose to prominence over the last few years—three years, to be exact. It was a sudden, massive success. Since you've been partnering with them for three years, you should know her better than I do," Beau pointed out bluntly.
Sebastian was silent for a moment. "Her name is Helena Wallace."
This time, Beau was the one left stunned.
For a brief moment, words completely failed him.
"Is it..." Beau didn't even know how to finish the question.
"It's not her. But their eyes are incredibly similar. They share a resemblance, though their demeanors are completely different. My Helena was never that aggressive," Sebastian dismissed the thought.
Beau finally understood.
Before Beau could speak, Sebastian continued, "She is Julian's wife. Doesn't that strike you as a little too coincidental?"
Beau paused, actually remaining quite calm.
"Not really. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. This Helena clearly has what it takes to build an empire like IGM from the ground up. She just happens to share the same name. We both know how Julian felt about your Helena, and you just said this woman looks a bit like her. Julian needed a wife. He had the capital, she had the talent, and in return, she got a flawless new identity. It's a win-win situation. After all, IGM couldn't have expanded so rapidly over the past three years without serious financial backing."
Looking at it from an outsider's perspective, Beau's analysis was entirely logical.
It all made perfect sense.
Sebastian couldn't find a single flaw in the reasoning.
"Seb. She is gone," Beau reminded him gently.
"Julian knows that too. Otherwise, he wouldn't have found such a perfect stand-in. Besides, you've met this new Helena yourself. You know it's absolutely not her, right?" Beau tried to reason with him.
