He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 874

She stayed silent.

Truthfully, none of the money or property was necessary.

But if making these arrangements gave him some peace of mind, she was willing to accept them.

"Helena, even after we divorce, we're still friends. If you ever need anything, I expect you to come to me first," he said, fighting to keep his emotions in check.

"I will," she promised with a small nod.

He let it rest. "I'll have the lawyers draft everything and let you know when it's ready to sign. I'll expedite the process."

"Okay," she agreed.

"Finish your breakfast. I'll drive you to the hospital to see Skye. As for the divorce, she's going to find out eventually. You can break the news to her whenever you feel the time is right. Once the paperwork is finalized, I can handle the public announcement. Or you can pick the date. If you'd rather keep it quiet for now, that works too."

He handed her complete control over the narrative.

"Let's keep it under wraps for now. I need to handle the firestorm right in front of us first," she decided after a moment's thought.

"Alright," he nodded.

Only then did she look back down at her plate, quietly finishing her meal.

Shortly after, he dropped her off at the hospital.

Skye was ecstatic to see her.

She clung to her arm, chattering away animatedly for ages.

Then, the little girl suddenly looked up with big, sad eyes. "Lena, I feel so bad for Kyle."

"Why? What happened?" she asked, caught off guard.

"He texted me and said his mom and dad are getting a divorce. He told me it's not a big deal, but with everything going on, he's stuck all by himself in a hotel room and isn't allowed to go anywhere," Skye pouted, relaying the boy's predicament.

She listened quietly, not offering a response.

She had developed a genuine soft spot for Kyle.

Even if Janetta wasn't his biological mother, he was still Sebastian's flesh and blood.

She knew she couldn't let herself get too attached to him.
