He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 183

"Jevon and Elian were sitting right next to me," Yorath recalled. "You were working a summer job, and you served us steamed Australian lobster. If you can't remember, I'll take you to that restaurant for a meal after we're married."

"That place went out of business ages ago," she pointed out.

He finished smoothing her outfit and took a step back. "Is that so? Then I'll just open an exact replica in the exact same spot."

Ottilie knew he never made empty promises.

If he wanted to eat that meal, he was going to make it happen.

Fully dressed, the two of them headed out together.

Yvonne was waiting by the door and pulled open the back seat of the car. "Mr. Fordham, can I sit this one out?"

Ottilie was already sliding inside, catching a glimpse of Yvonne from the corner of her eye.

From her angle, all she could see were Yvonne's towering heels.

"What do you think?" Stripped of his usual refined gentleman persona, Yorath suddenly radiated an icy, unapproachable aura.

"Understood," Yvonne murmured, bowing her head and shutting the door behind them.

As soon as they were settled, Soren spoke up from the front seat. "Ms. Sewell, Mrs. Fordham was discharged from the hospital today. Mr. Fordham is hosting a private family dinner tonight to welcome her home."

She checked the time. It was only five in the afternoon.

It was entirely too early to be showing up for a formal dinner.

While Yorath played the filial son, he definitely wasn't the type to show up hours early just to greet guests.

Those kinds of domestic duties were always left to Lyle.

She suddenly felt inexplicably warm, a suffocating tightness building in her chest.

Her intuition screamed that something was about to go down.

As they passed a florist, the car pulled over.

Yorath leaned closer. "Before we head back, we need to visit a patient. Could you be a darling and pick up a bouquet for me?"

"Sure."

Soren had already stepped out, opening the door for her and escorting her inside to make a selection.

"You financed her for three years," Jevon scoffed. "If she wasn't so obsessed with throwing her cash at other men, the fortune she squeezed out of you would have lasted her a lifetime. So why the hell was she suddenly so broke she had to play bouncer at a restaurant, hand out flyers, and live in a condemned building?"

The only glaring flaw the woman had was her insatiable appetite for attractive men.

Jevon would never forget the shameless way she practically drooled the first time she laid eyes on Yorath.

It was downright vulgar!

She completely lacked the grace a woman should have.

How could anyone be that brazenly cheap?

If any girl in his family ever dared to look at a man with that kind of hunger, he'd drag her home and shatter her legs.

Yorath finished reading the file, catching sight of Ottilie exiting the florist from his periphery.

Soren trailed behind her, carrying a massive bouquet of bright sunflowers.

"She found herself another sugar daddy while locked up in St. Dymphna's Psychiatric Facility," Yorath murmured, completely unfazed.
