He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 41

Originally, it was just because his girlfriend thought the breakup fee was too low.

She reported him to the police for extortion, but the investigation uncovered a lot of dirty secrets.

The young pop idol was sentenced to over a decade in prison.

Yorath Fordham was the lawyer who put him there.

Shawn Sewell hadn't quite figured out the situation yet. He turned to Huxley Tarrant and said, "Yorath is out of his mind. How dare he think he can marry Nyssa, and how dare he disrespect you? You should call your father and have him teach Yorath a lesson."

Huxley shot Shawn a dark look, then turned around and limped into the private room on his crutches.

Jevon Crawford roughly shoved Shawn into the room, walked in himself, and took a seat right by the door.

He pulled out a cigarette, and the others immediately scrambled to light it for him like eager lapdogs.

Looking at their flattering, desperate faces, Jevon's lips twitched in disgust.

"You bastards actually dared to touch Mr. Fordham's woman. Even if he gets bored and tosses her aside, it's not your place to ruin her."

The men lowered their heads, too terrified to speak, frantically texting their family patriarchs for help.

Ottilie Sewell was rushed to the hospital to get her stomach pumped.

After the grueling ordeal, she lay frail and motionless on the hospital bed, barely clinging to life.

Yorath held a glass of warm water, guiding a straw to her lips. "The doctor said you need to drink a lot to avoid dehydration."

Tears clung to Ottilie's eyelashes. With a single blink, they rolled down her pale cheeks.

She parted her lips, biting the straw, and managed to drink half the glass.

Her lips looked exceptionally red, as if they had been thoroughly kissed.

"Did they touch you?"

Ottilie shook her head, lacking the strength to speak.

Her body was burning up. The only way to metabolize the drug and cool down was to sweat it out.

Perspiration dripped down her skin like rain, quickly soaking through her clothes.

The doctor had strictly forbidden her from showering.

So Yorath removed her clothes, leaving her bare on the bed.

He brought over a basin of hot water and gently gave her a sponge bath.

Yorath was sweating even more than she was, his eyes burning with intense heat.

"Mr. Crawford has kept everyone locked in the VIP room. They found forty-five hidden cameras in there. He's waiting for you."

Yorath didn't let his assistant into the room. He simply took the items.

"You don't have the energy," Yorath said softly, turning back to the bed. "I'll help you get dressed."

As he lifted Ottilie, he noticed the sheets were soaked through.

He dressed her carefully, then called the nurses to change the bedding.

Propping her up against the pillows, he opened the food container. He took out the light chicken and vegetable soup, blowing on it gently to cool it down before feeding it to her.

Soren was an excellent cook. Ottilie managed to eat about half a bowl before drowsiness overtook her.

She drifted off into a restless sleep.

Yorath wiped her down a few more times, changing her clothes whenever they grew damp.

It wasn't until noon that she finally stopped sweating and her IV drip finished.

Her blood tests showed the drug had metabolized sufficiently.

Only then did Yorath instruct Soren to stand guard at the hospital while he headed to the nightclub.
