Yorath said, "She's more than capable of handling your role and meeting your expectations for an actress."
Zavier Langley looked a bit surprised. "You have that much faith in her?"
"Yeah. She can be a bit naive in other aspects, but her acting is flawless."
Yorath rarely praised anyone like this.
The last time he introduced Nyssa Tarrant, he'd used just a few words.
*This is Nyssa, my mentor's daughter.*
Ottilie Sewell sat beside Yorath, listening quietly without interrupting.
Beside them, Paige Quinn, who had a soft spot for quiet girls, handed her a glass of water.
"Why so quiet, sweetie?"
"I'm not sure what to say."
Paige smiled. "Let's talk about the script. What kind of character do you want to play?"
"I want to kill my lover."
Instantly, a pin-drop silence fell over the private room.
After a few seconds, Paige finally asked, "And then?"
"And then love him."
"Kill him, then love him! Wow, that's intense. I'm inspired—I'm heading back to write the script right now."
Paige grabbed her coat and rushed out, not even bothering to say goodbye to Zavier.
Zavier, utterly devoted to his wife, knew there was no way out of producing this film now.
He turned to Yorath. "Mr. Fordham, what kind of investment budget are we looking at?"
"Spend whatever you need. The funding is limitless." Yorath raised his glass to clink it against Zavier's.
Once the details were settled, they headed back.
On the drive home, Yorath asked, "Haven't finished reviewing the contract?"
"I'll look at it as soon as we get back today," Ottilie replied.
"Not happy?"
"No, I'm thrilled."
Ottilie gave Yorath a bright smile. "Yorath..."
The car was dead silent, and since Ottilie's phone was practically an antique, the earpiece leaked sound loudly.
Soren, driving in the front, heard every single word.
"It counts."
"Then can I call you Tilly?"
"Yeah."
"We talked about grabbing some noodles last time. When are you free so we can go together?"
"She doesn't have time," Yorath suddenly interjected.
A beat of heavy silence stretched across the line.
"Who are you with?" Yves asked cautiously.
"A friend." Ottilie hung up the phone and offered Yorath an apologetic smile. "Sorry for the disturbance."
Yorath's jaw tightened, his gaze turning razor-sharp.
"Is my name a secret?"
