In the private dining room on the east side of the third floor at the Ever-Smooth Restaurant.
Whitney Harper sat at the head of the table in a stunning, high-end designer summer dress, beaming radiantly as she soaked up everyone’s compliments.
“Whitney, you look absolutely gorgeous today.”
“My idol wore that exact dress! The official price is sixty-seven grand.”
“What?! That dress costs more than years of my living expenses.”
The classmates chattered animatedly about Whitney’s outfit. Several of the boys stared at her with even more intense admiration.
Although Whitney was just a student right now, she had modeled part-time over the summer. A photographer had posted a short clip of her, and it had completely blown up. In the video, Whitney’s innocent, pure look had drawn in a massive fanbase. She naturally opened her own social media account, and within two months, she had amassed three hundred thousand followers, becoming the ultimate celebrity at school.
Before coming today, Whitney had a professional stylist give her a playful bun, with loose strands framing her face perfectly. She playfully stuck her tongue out. “Oh, my mom bought this for me. She loves dressing me up in pretty clothes. I don't really know how much it costs!”
Isabella, dressed elegantly in a fitted dress, reached over and pinched her daughter’s cheek. “You’re my precious baby. Of course I want you looking beautiful.”
“Whitney, you’re literally a princess.”
“Right? Gorgeous, top grades, rich family, huge following on TikTok, and completely spoiled by your parents. If that’s not a princess, what is?”
Whitney’s cheeks flushed pink. “Alright, stop flattering me! I just invited you all here to have a good time and eat some cake.”
Her best friend quickly chimed in, “Whitney custom-ordered a ten-tier cake! The fruit inside was specially flown in from overseas. You guys definitely have to try it.”
“The school belle is way too generous!” a boy from the next table yelled out.
Those words made two bright red spots appear on Whitney’s cheeks. She glared playfully at the boy. “Stop calling me that! Don't talk nonsense.”
Just as she finished speaking, the door to the private room was suddenly shoved open.
