Her Revenge Was His Regret (Shirley and Gilbert) novel Chapter 182

Chapter 182 The Showdown

“If you really don’t matter to Gilbert at all, you’re good,” Lucas said. “But if you do—or if you tick her off-it won’t just be you backing down. She’ll run you over and push you straight to the bottom. Worse, she might even ban you from the city for good.”

Stealing someone’s man was one thing-but crushing them after? That was straight-up lowdown.

“Wait a sec,” Sherry said. “If even you can find out what Julia’s really like, then other guys with your status can too. Wouldn’t her plan be out in the open? Why’d anyone fall for that?”

Sherry really wanted to know if Gilbert had any idea.

If he did, would he still act the same? Would he still dote on her?

“Guys don’t care if women have little schemes like that.” Lucas shrugged. “If anything, they love it. It just depends if Julia’s good enough to be their number one.

“If a chick’s super likable to guys, they’ll jump at the chance to be with her.”

It was like how women hated those fake nice girls-the ones who acted sweet but were really fake.

But even if guys saw through it, they still ate that crap up. There was nothing you could do about it.

Besides, most guys loved watching Julia charm them. She was a total smoke show, after all.

So Julia wanted to be the number one in every guy’s heart.

What did Lucas think about that?

Most guys eat up a beautiful woman’s sweet talk, so does Lucas do the same?

I mean, he said he’s a little interested in her earlier, right?

Sherry pulled out her top-tier dress.

No matter what, the gala day rolled around fast.

Sherry linked arms with Lucas and walked in like she owned the place.

Their entrance got everyone’s attention.

“Oh my gosh! I finally get to see Mr. Harrison!”

People from Seaseat City were more shocked.

The Harrison family was so mysterious and powerful-folks like them would probably never get to see him in person, not in a million years.

Even if they did, they’d be shocked by the family’s power. But they never thought this guy would be “Mr. Harrison” himself!

“You’re telling me this total hottie is Mr. Harrison from King City?” one person gushed. “Why didn’t anyone say he was this hot?”

“Oh my god, he’s my dream guy! Way hotter than all the celebs these days-even hotter than Dale, the movie star! I swear, if Mr. Harrison wanted Dale’s spot as top actor, Dale would have to hand it over!”

Right then, Dale walked in-right on the dot.

He was probably the only one from the Campbell family who could get in.

He was at the top of the entertainment industry. Of course he had the right to be there.

It’d be one thing if these guys were more powerful than him. But a businessman beating him, a movie star?

Even Gilbert was only equal to him.

Handing over his top actor spot? Fat chance.

He couldn’t wait to see how stuck-up this “Mr. Harrison” was.

Dale straightened his tie, cleared his throat to get folks’ eyes on him, and said, “So you’re Mr. Harrison? My bad. I didn’t recognize you earlier.”

He walked over. From behind, Lucas was only a little taller than him.

He’s definitely wearing height insoles in his shoes. I’d never touch that cheap junk.

Get close enough to compare our looks, and I’ll show him what a real difference is.

I’ll make him see it-I’m the one who’s the best-looking.

So Dale walked over all confident-like.

But when he saw Lucas’s face, his eyes got huge-like he’d seen a ghost.

He was so hot.

The kind of hot even guys had to admit was hot.

His well-fitted suit showed off his great body underneath-no fake stuff.

It was totally different from Dale’s-Dale only hit the gym every once in a while, and he had to suck in his stomach to look buff.
