Gabriel could only try to get Sherry out through connections. If Sherry went to jail because of this, she would have no future in this circle.

Gabriel couldn’t understand why Gilbert had acted so impulsively. Did he really like Wendy?

No matter how Gabriel looked at Wendy, he felt she had nothing that would attract Gilbert.

Sherry was in jail, while Gilbert was with Wendy. Gabriel felt sorry for Sherry just thinking about it.

Unexpectedly, Gilbert didn’t go back in the house. “Go take good care of her. Remember, don’t let her get hurt. Do whatever she wants. Just let her have her way.”

Gabriel stormed inside.

Gilbert, annoyed, went to his usual club. He chose the crowded lobby.

Everyone immediately straightened their backs upon seeing him and began to greet him respectfully.

Gilbert picked up his glass and drank, exuding an intimidating aura.

John and Paul poured him more drinks. “Gilbert, who upset you?”

Gilbert didn’t speak, continuing to sip his drink. Gilbert usually drank very little. Opportunities to get him drunk were rare.

He finished his last glass and slammed it on the table. “Sherry’s gone mad! She hit Wendy with a sack over her head!”

John and Paul’s faces instantly changed. “What? She actually dared to hit Wendy!”

“I’ve put Sherry in jail.”

Everyone was astonished. John and Paul hadn’t expected this outcome. Just a second ago, they were discussing how to avenge Wendy.

Tyrone’s handsome eyes widened. “What?”

The others echoed. “Gilbert’s really something. He’s sent his wife to jail for a homewrecker.”

Gilbert nearly shattered the table. “I treat Wendy like a sister. Not only Sherry misunderstood, but you too? Are you all just as jealous as she is?”

Sister?

Gilbert treated Wendy like a little sister.

But Wendy’s intentions weren’t so pure. Only Gilbert himself believed what he said. When they were together, Wendy would often get drunk and try to seduce Gilbert.

After all, she was young and attractive, able to draw them in.

Only Gilbert remained unmoved. They thought it was for Sherry. But he sent Sherry to prison to suffer. They didn’t understand what he was thinking.

Gilbert suppressed his frustration. “It’s good for her to go in and calm down. I’ll pick her up in a few days.”

If Sherry was really angry, she could tell him to make Wendy apologize. But she chose the most extreme method.

Sherry didn’t trust him deep down. He would let her know that he was the person she could rely on most.

Anyway, Sherry wasn’t in any real danger. Once she knew how dangerous things were outside, she would remember his kindness.

Their conversation was overheard by people drinking on the other side. The man wearing the fox mask smiled faintly, but a sharp glint flashed in his eyes.

In the detention cell.

Sherry never imagined that her first time in such a place would be because her husband had sent her here for a homewrecker. How ridiculous.

Sherry laughed, then burst into tears, her facade of strength crumbling. She thought she was no longer afraid of the dark, but this small, dark cell still terrified her.

Not just the small, dark room at Campbell Villa.

It was a dark room from even earlier in her memory. Sherry clutched her head, a sharp pain shooting through her, her breathing becoming labored. Heartbreaking pain was pretty much what she felt now.

She didn’t know how long she had been crying. When she awoke, it was already daylight.

She seemed to have been given special treatment. She was alone in a this cell. There was a very small window. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have known it was daytime.

A day had passed. She saw no one else, no water or food.

She called out, but no one answered.

It wasn’t until late at night that someone released her and handed her over to another group.

Could it be that the prison she was supposed to be in wasn’t in this district?

As the scenery outside grew increasingly desolate, Sherry felt something was wrong. These people weren’t in police uniforms.
