Hide and Seek: The Mad Girl Sees All novel Chapter 192

Chapter 192

Lil Lily’s excitement fizzled out instantly. “So it doesn’t count as an attraction?”

The old lady pushed up her reading glasses. “Sweetie, the task slip is just proof you’re working. It has nothing to do with the

attractions.”

Lyra didn’t bother with it. She scanned all the lost and found notices on the wall, then looked at the old lady.We need five task slips.”

The old lady looked up.

“There are five of us, and we’re all going to look for them,” Lyra said.

“Alright,” the old lady said.

The old lady dug out five slips with black borders from the drawer and passed them out one at a time.

Lyra took the slips, then asked. “Do you have a complete list of the lost and found items?”

The old lady shot her a glance but didn’t ask any questions. She pulled out a sheet of paper folded in thirds from under the counter and handed it over.

“Thanks,” Lyra said.

Lina watched the whole thing. After Lyra got the list, she couldn’t help but ask, “Um, I have a question.”

The old lady looked at her.

Lina swallowed nervously. “If we can’t find them, will there be any punishment?”

The old lady chuckled. “Sweetie, this is an amusement park, not the mafia. If you can’t find them, it’s no big deal, nobody’s going to twist your arm.”

Lina’s shoulders slumped in relief, and she let out a long breath. “That’s a relief…”

Lil Lily leaned in and whispered, “Good question. I was about to ask the same thing.”

Lina whispered back, “I was worried she’d say we’d get killed if we couldn’t find them.”

“Let’s go, Lyra said, with the task slips and the list in hand, leading the way out of the little blue hut.

The five of them gathered in a half-circle by the flower bed outside. Lyra unfolded the lost and found list and laid it out on the edge of the flower bed.

The list was way longer than the notices on the wall, more than twenty items, some big, some small. Each one had a reward amount next to it, and there was a color picture for each item.

Lyra looked up at the other four. “Notice anything off?”

Lydia frowned at the list, staying silent.

Sergei was also thinking it over.

Lil Lily leaned in, staring at every line, then suddenly tapped the paper twice. “Some rewards are tickets, and some are Park

Coins.”

Lyra nodded. “Anything else?”

Lydia spoke up. “The payout for each item is just too low.”

She pointed at several lines. “Two Park Coins, three, four… even finding them all won’t add up to much. With items scattered across the whole park, the chance of finding everything is tiny.”

“Exactly,” Sergei added. “If we just count on the lost and found rewards, we probably won’t even scrape together the ten Park Coins needed for the cheapest ride.”

Lyra didn’t answer right away. She turned to Lina. “Map.”

Lina immediately pulled the map out of her pocket, unfolded it, and set it down next to the list so the two sheets were side by side.

Lyra’s eyes moved back and forth between the two sheets. She ran her finger along the list, tapped a spot on the map, then went back to the list.

“Look here,” Lyra told them.

The four of them leaned in.

Lyra pointed down the list, one item at a time.

Lyra read off, “Red hair tie, from the Fairy Tale Princess attraction; bumper car steering wheel cover, from the bumper car zone; parrot figurine, from the pirate ship area; scarecrow hat, from the family farm; mirror shard, from the mirror maze…”

Her finger paused, and she looked up. “The lost and found items cover every attraction here.”

Lina blinked in surprise. “Every single one?”

Lydia’s expression shifted. “You mean…”

“These lost items are actually parts that fell off from each attraction,” Lyra said, straightening up. “If we don’t return them. the rides could malfunction or even cause accidents when players try to use them.”

Sergei blurted out, “It’s a death-trap setup.”

Everyone turned to look at him.

Sergei saw their confused faces and explained.

Sergei explained, “In peacetime, there was a disaster movie about death traps. One installment was set at an amusement park: a screw fell from a ride’s hydraulic pipe, no one noticed, and the track derailed, throwing dozens off.”

He paused. “Everyone died.”

Lina looked up, her gaze sweeping across the amusement park. People were laughing in the bumper car area, shouting on the pirate ship, and the carousel’s cheerful music jingled in the air. People waiting in line were chatting in the sunshine.

Everything looked perfectly normal, no sign of danger anywhere.,

Lina turned back, a little uneasy. “Lyra, is this for real?”

Lyra leaned against the edge of the flower bed, not making any promises. “Not sure.”

She folded up the list and slipped it into her pocket. “This is just my gut feeling.”

Lydia watched her, thinking, ‘Lyra’s gut never lets her down.

“But it never hurts to be careful,” Lyra said, pulling out her Soul Deck and taking out Amon’s card. “Release.”

The card glowed faintly, and Amon’s figure emerged from it. He turned his head, scanning the area.

“Amon.” Lyra called out. “Do you sense anything off?”

Amon’s expression turned serious, and he spoke in a low voice. “Yes.”

“What is it?” Lina leaned in, tense.

Amon’s gaze swept over the amusement park, then he looked back with conviction.

“There are a lot of people here,” he said.
