Hide and Seek: The Mad Girl Sees All novel Chapter 194

Chapter 194

Hearing Lyra’s question, everyone shook their heads. “No.”

Lina quickly said, “I’ve played before, but it’s been years. I only remember the basic rules. I wouldn’t be able to do it now.

Lina looked worried. “But I’m afraid if there aren’t twelve people, Mr. Jester might force players to participate

Lyra nodded. “That’s likely. So we need to make our choices before Mr. Jester starts grabbing people. If we fulfill our requirements, we’ll be less likely to get snatched by Mr. Jester.”

“Let’s go back to the Lost and Found office,” Lyra said.

Lina was taken aback. “Now?”

“If Clara and the others find something, they’ll come to me. We’ll wait by the cabin to save time,” Lyra explained.

Lydia immediately slung her hammer over her shoulder. “Makes sense. Let’s go.”

The five of them turned and headed back, moving twice as fast as before.

Jane walked beside Lyra. Seeing them pick up the pace, she said, “Lyra, Ivana and I will go look too. We’ll meet you at the Lost and Found office as soon as we find something.”

“Okay, be careful,” Lyra replied.

“Don’t worry,” Jane said.

Jane and Ivana’s souls darted off, one to the left and one to the right, disappearing above the crowd in seconds.

Lil Lily jogged after Lyra. As they passed the bumper car area, she almost tripped over a kid holding a lollipop. She sidestepped and kept moving.

Lina checked the time as she ran. “Only ten minutes left.”

Lyra quickened her pace, scanning the attractions for anything unusual.

Lyra wondered, ‘Why are there so many people in this mission? How will the Hunters find the players among them? And once they do, how will they catch them? What’s the best way for the Hunters to grab someone?’

Before they reached the Lost and Found office, Clara’s voice sounded in their ears. “Lyra, I found a red hair tie. Is this it?”

Lyra looked at the hair tie that suddenly appeared in front of her and grabbed it without breaking stride. “Yes, that’s it. Did you find anything else?”

“I only saw this one. The others are still searching,” Clara replied.

“Alright, keep searching, but be back by 2:30,” Lyra said.

“Okay.” Clara left.

The five kept moving, and as they neared the blue cabin, three more spirits returned.

Amon held out a wooden parrot figurine. “Here! Found it under the pirate ship, some kid nearly kicked it away!”

Sunhwa raised a straw hat. “Scarecrow’s hat, found it in the ditch at the petting zoo.”

Scarlet Dawn, the last to arrive, stayed silent and handed over a carousel horse’s broken unicorn horn.

Lyra took all three items and quickly checked them.

Red hair tie: 2 Park Coins.

Parrot figurine: 6 Park Coins.

Scarecrow’s hat: 5 Park Coins.

Broken unicorn horn from the carousel horse: 4 Park Coins.

“Seventeen Park Coins,” Lyra said, glancing at everyone. “We’re three Park Coins short, that’s not enough for two tickets.

“Go search again. Be back by 2:30,” Lyra told them. The three immediately turned and headed out.

Lyra looked at the items in her hands. “Let’s trade these in first and see what happens.”

She turned and walked toward the Lost and Found office. When she got there, she saw four people inside. Three were looking at the lost items, and one was talking to the old woman.

“Please, just two Park Coins aren’t enough. Can’t you give me a few more?” the man pleaded.

The old woman pushed up her reading glasses, her tone sharp. “No. You get what you get. The prices are clearly marked. Can’t you read?”

“But…” the man stammered.

“Move along! There are people waiting. If you don’t leave, I’ll call security!” the old woman snapped.

The tall, thin man opened his mouth, but didn’t argue. He took two Park Coins from the tray and walked past Lyra and the others as he left.

His face wasn’t exactly despairing, more like he’d just been doused with cold water, left completely at a loss.

Two Park Coins weren’t even enough for the cheapest ride.

Lyra rushed up and handed over all four items.
