Chapter 230 The Veil
Liana wasn’t aware of this history, only that Nathan had been unusually respectful lately.
She lifted her eyes to the man upstairs, rolling a lighter between his fingers. She had no idea how long he’d been there-didn’t look like he welcomed them.
Nathan obediently released her. “You okay to stand on your own?”
Liana murmured, “Thank you.”
Nathan then shoved his hands in his pockets and put some distance between them.
He couldn’t shake the feeling Elian thought he was dirty
Come on-I’m super clean, okay?
“Elian, is that my sister?”
While everyone was lost in their own thoughts, another figure appeared beside Elian on the second floor.
Anya was already in a wedding gown, complete with a headpiece. She happily ran to his side, linking her arm through his as she looked down. Seeing Liana, she waved enthusiastically with a white-gloved hand. “Liana! You’re here! Come up!”
The three of them ascended. At the same time, Jett emerged from an inner room.
Jett was dressed head-to-toe in black today.
Yes, he was in a foul mood.
Liana wore a loose sweater and jeans under her black coat, her hair pulled back in a simple knot, her delicate face exposed. She looked gentle and graceful.
But inside, she felt awful.
After all, the man Anya was currently clinging to had actually gotten her a wedding dress.
She really didn’t want to know any more about him. She was afraid.
Afraid the man she’d fallen in love with was just a figment of her imagination.
In reality, he was just a polished egoist. That wedding? Id be either her or Anya.
And yet, part of her hoped for this outcome. If he married Anya, no one would bother her anymore.
She was conflicted.
Watching Anya in a wedding dress standing beside him she thought….
Love is truly a torturous thing.
Seeing them approach, Anya turned to Jett, asking politely, “Jett, could you take a picture for us?”
“Sure.”

Jett didn’t say much. his phone already ready.
“Elian, let’s take a photo.”
Anya tightened her hold on his arm. Feeling his resistance, she looked up at him with adoring eyes.
As Liana reached the top of the stairs, her gaze immediately met his.
Elian had been watching her the whole time. She was bundled up, but it only accentuated her allure.
“Finished?”
Seeing her just standing to the side, not approaching, Elian felt a pang of uncertainty and looked down at Anya.
“Oh! How about we all take a group photo together?” Ava suggested, still not letting go.
But Elian looked at Liana. “Come here.”
Liana gave him a flat look, making no move to join them.
“It wouldn’t be appropriate for me to be in your wedding photos.”
“What nonsense are you talking?” Elian asked.
Liana said nothing more, just waited.
There were seven or eight people here, and none of them stepped forward. Why would she jump in?
Besides, the knife had been at her side less than ten minutes ago. She wasn’t keen on provoking Anya’s wrath further.
Wasn’t there a saying?
If you can’t beat them, avoid them.
But then…
“Liana, come on! We’re all family. Let’s take one together! Nathan, Xander, you too! Jett, you get in the shot. And miss,” she turned to the staff member holding a long veil, “could you take the photo for us?”
“Oh, of course.”
The girl quickly agreed, looking for a colleague to hold the veil.
Anya called out into the hallway first, “Can someone hold this veil, please?”
Yeah, that beautiful veil shouldn’t be Liana’s.
To everyone’s surprise, Elian spoke up, “I’ll take it.”
Both the staff member and Anya looked at him curiously. Anya’s eyes held more shock.
Anya said to him, “You don’t need to handle us girls’ things. Just focus on the photo.”
