His Hidden Family My Ruined Marriage (Liana) novel Chapter 232

Chapter 232 Gown Fitting

“Mr. Locke…”

She had just wiped her tears when her knees were hugged again, and she was lifted high off the floor.

“Elian!”

He really popped up like a ghost-here one second, gone the next-enough to scare someone to death.

He held her aloft with one arm, and as she instinctively clutched his shoulder for balance, his other arm secured her against him. “Time for your fitting.”

Nathan, Jett, and Xander were standing in different spots, but all three were watching the people walking down the corridor toward the stairs.

“What the hell is he doing?” Nathan muttered, taken aback by Elian’s rough, bossy move.

Jett took a long, harsh drag from his cigarette, his expression icy. “That woman doesn’t deserve him.”

Nathan shot him a look. “And who does? Don’t say Anya. If you love someone, the least you can do is stay faithful and keep yourself clean, right?”

“That night we were drunk. I seduced her. Besides, hasn’t Elian slept with other women too?” Jett shouldered all the blame and threw a counter-accusation at Elian.

“Are you insane? Liana isn’t ‘some other woman.’ She’s his wife,” Nathan retorted, his eyes wide with disbelief.

“But Elian proposed to Anya first. That night, she thought I was him,” Jett insisted, his voice low with awkward conviction.

“Stop. Have some dignity,” Nathan cut him off, giving Jett a scornful look. I can’t believe you can even say that out loud.

Meanwhile, in the master designer’s studio upstairs, Yann had been waiting.

He frowned slightly as Elian carried Liana in over his shoulder.

“Be gentle with ladies.”

“Let me reintroduce you. My soon-to-be-ex-wife. How many days left again?” Elian spoke to Yann but kept his eyes on Liana.

He looks completely unhinged.

That was the simultaneous thought crossing both Liana and Yann’s minds.

“Twenty-seven days,” Liana murmured, a strange fear that he might hit her flickering through her.

“Right. Twenty-seven days,” Elian repeated to Yann with a smile.

Yann’s apprentice and two assistants stood by, barely daring to breathe, the young women repeatedly pressing their lips together, wishing to become invisible

“If the wedding falls through, consider this gown my divorce gift to you both,” Yann remarked.

“That’s too generous of you.”

“Then I won’t refund your money.”

Inside the fitting room, Liana wasn’t faring much better

“Huh, Mrs. Locke, your waistline seems… fuller,” one of the assistants noted very quietly.

Among women, commenting on weight gain was a major faux pas.

“Yes, I’ve been eating a bit more lately,” Liana replied, feigning composure.

“But we couldn’t tell at all with your clothes on!” another quickly added, trying to soften the blow.

Liana offered an awkward but polite smile.

Yep. The staff here had seriously high EQ.

“One moment, please.” The apprentice opened the dressing room door.

Liana watched her curiously and heard her report, “Yang, Mrs. Locke’s waist also needs adjustment.”

Yann glanced at Elian with an amused smile. “Quite the accomplishment, Mr. Locke. Both ladies have thickened at the waist.”

Elian’s eyes narrowed dangerously, a stormy glare fixing on Yann.

Yann promptly gathered his needle and thread and entered the fitting room, his brow furrowing seriously as he examined Liana’s waistline.

Elian remained on the sofa, his expression growing bleaker by the second.
