Chapter 57 Don’t Humiliate Me Here
“If you can walk out tonight, I’ll take your last name.”
Elian watched her retreating figure, in no hurry to chase her.
It felt like… a final, desperate stand.
Infuriated by the threat, Liana shot him a glare and retreated back into the bathroom.

Her soaked clothes were in a hamper by the tub. She bent to pick them up, turning her back to him as she pulled on her own damp blouse first.
She was shaking, angry that he always seemed so sure she was no match for him.
Elian’s gaze followed her until she bent to retrieve her underwear. The sight of her long, slender legs was his undoing. He couldn’t hold back. He strode forward.
Liana hadn’t even lifted a foot when her waist was seized. The world spun, and she was thrown over his shoulder.
“Elian! Put me down! I wanna go home!” she shrieked, horrified.
“Home? After I’ve had my fill of you on the very bed I shared with Anya, then I’ll let you go.”
He carried her out of the bathroom and tossed her onto the large mattress, pinning her down before she could move.
“Ah!”
Pain lanced through her. She’d twisted her back. Her face paled as she grimaced.
Elian swiftly immobilized her limbs, deftly unbuttoned her blouse-only two buttons were done-turned her over, and stripped it off in one fluid motion.
He pressed her into the mattress, pulled the covers over them, and finally paused, breathing heavily as he pinned her wrists above her head.
Liana stared up at him, humiliated. Three words forced their way past her lips.
“I hate you.”
No matter what, they’d been married. How could he do this to her, on the bed he’d shared with Anya?
“Hate me, then. Letting you go tonight wouldn’t earn me any goodwill tomorrow.”

He lowered his head to kiss her.
She turned her face away with lightning speed, catching him off guard.
Reacting instantly, he pinned both her wrists with one hand above her head. The other hand clamped firmly over her mouth.
“Elian, don’t you dare,” she threatened, tears of stubborn defiance welling in her eyes.
“Dare what? How much have I poured into us? Don’t you know? Since you’ve erased our past, I have no reason to hold back.”
He crushed his lips against hers.
The moment his tongue sought entry, she bit down hard.
“Hmph!”
A sharp, pained grunt escaped him, unexpected. But it only made him grip her jaw tighter, biting back just as fiercely.
As Liana gasped in pain, he deepened the kiss with a ruthless intensity.
His phone buzzed in his pocket again, ill-timed. He ignored it completely, consumed by the desperate, punishing kiss.
Only when he heard her choked, fragmented sobs did he finally still.
The massive bedroom was thick with tension. Liana lay exposed. Elian’s own clothes were half undone.
They were skin to skin under the single sheet, sharing warmth.
But the woman beneath him was crying so hard she could barely catch her breath, making Elian feel like the worst kind of predator.
He’d been so frantic, seeing her hurt by others, and now he was the one causing her pain.
“Elian… please… let me go,” she begged, her voice ragged from crying.
He couldn’t move, mesmerized by her utterly devastated expression.
“Please. I have nothing left. For the sake of two years, leave me just a shred of dignity. Don’t humiliate me here. Please.”
She was out of options.
