“Rebel, there is something we haven’t told you about our pack. We are tight lipped about Rising Moon because we don’t want anyone knowing about what makes us special.”

“Yeah, I heard about the healing springs.” I said.

Grandpa laughs, “Everyone still believes that, huh?”

“You mean it isn’t true?” I asked.

“No my dear. We said that as a diversion. We do have a natural spring, but it possesses no healing powers at all.”

“Then what’s the big mystery?” I asked.

“Before I tell you, you must promise to keep this to yourself. I will explain it to your mate and ask him to swear it to secrecy as well.” He says with a very serious tone.

“Of course, grandpa. I will not say a word.” I say.

“Okay, in our pack, only the warriors know and they are also sworn to secrecy. All of our warriors have special abilities. The Moon Goddess over two centuries ago blessed our pack warriors. Anyone who becomes a warrior in the Rising Moon pack is granted abilities by the Moon Goddess herself. However, if any of the warriors tell someone about their abilities, then all of the warriors will lose their abilities and will weaken our pack. Because you are our granddaughter by blood and you have become Luna of this pack, your blood is within Blackstone and therefore you, Austin and even your warriors can know about this special gift from the Moon Goddess. However, they will need to be sworn to the same secrecy.

I sit there with my mouth open. Special abilities? What kind of abilities? Do they all get the same kind or is it individual to the person? I have so many questions.

“It’s a lot to take in my dear.” My grandma says.

“Um, yeah. Can you tell me about these abilities? Do you have any being the Alpha and Luna?” I ask.

“Yes, and I suspect you do too, Rebel.” My grandfather said.

“Really?”

“Has Roxie ever been able to do anything that seems special?” He asked me.

“Tell him Rebs. I want to know too.’ My wolf encourages.

“Yeah, she is a special wolf. She knows when someone is being truthful, lying or telling a partial truth. She also alpha commands entire groups, not just one or two people at a time.” I said.

“That’s everything?” My grandpa asks me.

“Honestly, I don’t know. The alpha commanding an entire group is very new. I didn’t even know we could do that until that moment.” I explain, “However, I mentioned to Austin that maybe the reason why I didn’t know was because of was unhealthy for so long and Roxie and I didn’t have the energy to pull it off. I really don’t know if that is correct or not though grandpa.”
