When I took the blood pact, I had no idea that the Moon Goddess would give me a glimpse of battle we were about to face and the weak spots in our defenses. It was quick, but I heard the Moon Goddess clearly say that we have six hours before an attack will be brought to us. She said the Western and Eastern borders need to be fortalized.

It was so quick, but so clear, that I wanted us to get done with the rest of the warriors accepting the blood pact. Then I am sending warriors to be sides of the borders. I will talk with Reid about positioning his men on the Northern and Southern borders.

The only thing I didn’t see clearly was where Rebel was in everything and that had me worried. I want her to stay close to me when everything goes down. I don’t know if she will be fully recovered or strong enough to withstand a battle. There is only approximately four hours left before a battle will begin.

“Listen up anyone, before we begin, is there anyone who hasn’t taken the pact yet?” I announce.

Everyone was quiet and when I look at everyone’s faces, I know all of them have been up here, so I continue, “In approximately four hours and attack will be coming our way. We need double the men at the Eastern and Western borders. If there is anything weak in our defenses, tighten it up.”

Renz speaks up, “How do you know we have a battle coming Alpha?”

“When I took the blood pact, everyone must have seen the swirling that happened, correct?” I asked. When everyone nodded or affirmed what I asked, I continued, “The Moon Goddess told me clearly, we have an attack coming. She also said to fortify the Eastern and Western borders.”

Jessup spoke up, “Alpha, I will get warriors together and cover the Western border.”

Renz spoke up, “I will do the same for the Eastern border, Alpha. I will report what weakness in our defense we identify and strengthen.”

“Very good. I want everyone else split between the Northern and Southern border as well. Remember we have two threats. I don’t know which one is coming or if both are coming. Only that it will be here in the next four hours.”

As everyone starts filing out of the training facility and going to their respective place, I take Rebel back inside the pack house. We walk to our room, and I close the door behind me. “How are you feeling, darling?”

“I’m better. If we only have a few hours, I think a nap will do me and Roxie some good.” She says, and I see her mind is pensive.

“What is it?” I ask her.

“I’m not sure, but I feel uneasy Austin. Like we are missing something, but I can’t put my finger on it.” She responds, “Why tell you about the battle without telling you about the outcome? Or at the very least, that everything will be, okay?”

“I’m not sure my darling. She did tell us about the battle coming though, right? I must think it’s because she wants to give us an edge in winning the battle. Don’t you think?”

“I don’t know. All I know is my gut feeling, is something doesn’t seem right. I am going to lay down for a bit. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get some rest and Roxie, and I will be ready to fight in the next few hours.” She says as she climbs into our bed.

I leave Rebel to rest and head to my office. I want to see if councilman Elias has left any messages for me. As I make my way, I run into Reid, “Reid, would you like to come with me to my office? I was going to see if there were any messages from the councilman?”

“Yes, let’s head there. I’d like to talk to you about your warriors as well.”

“Very well,” I say as we are entering my office, just in time to hear my phone ringing. “Hello, Alpha Austin here.”

“Alpha, this is Elias. Is now a good time?”

“Absolutely,” I say as I put him on speaker, so Reid can hear. “What news do you have?”

“The rest of the council agrees with bringing Harris in for questioning. However, I must tell you that we are bringing up possible kidnapping charges based on the doctor records. I think you understand why, especially if you had your conversation with Dr. Hadley.” He states.

“I absolutely agree. However, according to Reid, the Harris he knew was not only an Alpha, but also passed away. If you are still planning to bring him here as we discussed, then I would like for Reid to confirm if he recognizes the Harris he remembers or if this could possibly be Harris’ brother, who I understand from Reid was a beta. If this holds true, then we may have more questions than answers.”

Reid than speaks up, “I would like to confirm if we are talking about the same Harris, councilman, if that is okay with you.”

“Absolutely. If he isn’t the real Harris, then who is he, where is the real Harris and how did this person end up with Luna Rebel and why?” Elias says.

“Okay, since we are in agreement, when can we expect this to take place?” I ask.

“We are expediting this paperwork and will hopefully have this completed and ready to execute by end of the week, Alpha.” He answers.

“Very good, and what about the Blue Moon pack and Alpha Kaden?” I asked.

“That’s a little more complicated. I presented the information to everyone in the council. I also presented it to the Central Council. They are currently reviewing all the information. I made mention that Alpha Kaden likes to use blackmail or bribery, and we need to make sure he can’t take advantage of the council in such a way. However, two of the council members already said that Alpha Kaden has reached out to them. They haven’t returned any calls, and now they will not be returning any of his calls. The Central Council was not happy hearing that Northwestern Council has been compromised. They are currently reviewing financials and emails and any other form of communication that Kaden may have had with the councilmen there. We will get a hold of this situation.”

“So, what is making it complicated then?” I asked.

“Until there is proof of the blackmail and, or, the bribery, we cannot move forward with apprehending Alpha
