Chapter 118
Austin POV
It feels like hours trying to get Rebel down the pass. I’m being careful not to let her bump into anything and cause further injury to her. Ceraline is following closely and helping me bring her down when we get to more difficult parts of the pass. I know I banished her, and I am not sure why she is helping. I remember she said she wanted to make amends and redeem herself, but I don’t know if that is the truth or not. If Rebel were awake, she could tell me if Ceraline is telling the truth. All I can do right now, is trust that she isn’t trying to harm my mate.
“Alpha,” She says quietly, “We are about ten minutes out. Perhaps you should link the warriors to come help.”
“Yes, that’s a good idea. Thanks.” I say. “My mind is focused on Rebel right now and I didn’t realize we were close.”
I mind link the warriors that Renz told me were waiting for us. I told them where we were and I continued down the path. “Ceraline,” I begin, “I want to thank you for your help. I wouldn’t have been able to find Rebel on time if it wasn’t for you.”
Ceraline looks down, “You know, this is the softest tone I think you have ever used when speaking to me, and there is no need to thank me. I owe this to both of you. It wasn’t until I left the pack that I realized how badly I behaved. When we get to the border, I will be on my way.
“Ceraline, I’m not saying I will bring you back into the pack, however, there are small huts at the edge of the borders. I have asked Renz to prepare one for you and to make sure there is food and supplies stocked. Stay until Rebel is awake. I’m sure she will want to thank you for helping to save her life.” I say.
“I’m not sure Alpha. With all due respect, I don’t know if I can trust myself yet.” She replies.
“I won’t push you, but the offer stands. It will make me feel a lot better though if you stay long enough to eat something. At the very least, I know you will have food in your system. I will even give you some to take with you.”
She simply nods and quietly thanks me as we continue the path. My arms and legs are starting to feel fatigue when I see the warriors meeting me. They have a mobile cot.
“Alpha.” They all say, “Let us carry Luna down the rest of the way.”
I gently place her on the cot and they start making their way down carefully. I am following behind them and see the car. I turn to Ceraline and extend my hand. “I hope you will stay in the hut for a couple of days and get some food. No matter your choice, thank you.”
Just as she is about to say something, her head snaps to the left and I see her eyes widen and she gasps. I look and see Reid with some of his warriors approaching. One of the warriors breaks from the rest and comes running towards us.
As he gets closer, I see a look in his eyes and it’s directed at Ceraline. That’s when he said, “MATE!”
Ceraline’s eyes start watering as she whispers, “mate.” Then like a flash of lightening, she takes off in the opposite direction and runs back into the pass.
The warrior wasn’t expecting her to be so quick and looked at me. “Her name is Ceraline. She was banished from the pack for betraying her Luna.” I say, and I see his eyes filled with disappointment, “However,” I continue, “If

not for her, our Luna wouldn’t be here right now, and we would have been too late to start Kaden. She has made amends with me, and I hope with our Luna.” (1
He looks surprised at my words and then looks back out to the pass. “What’s your name warrior?”
“Dominic, Alpha.”
“Well, Dominic, I’m pretty sure you can find her if you can catch her scent. I had a hut prepared for her, to thank her. If anyone will be able to convince her to stay a few days, I’m sure it would be her mate.” I say.
He gives me a curt nod and looks at Reid. “Go find her Dominic. Link us if you have any trouble.”
“Thank you, Alpha.” With that, he starts going down the path to find her. I hope he does. If the Moon Goddess is giving her a second chance mate, then she is being redeemed. If that is the case, I will forgive her and I’m sure Rebel will too.
I nod at Reid, “I’m taking my mate to the hospital.”
