“Are you serious right now Cullen?” I’m trying to shake off this weakness right now. I don’t like the smirk on this bastard’s face.

“Oh, I’m very serious…mate.” He says slowly. It’s almost as if he is testing the word on his tongue to see if he likes calling me that.

“We are NOT mates. You rejected me. I accepted. End of story.” I spat.

He chuckled lightly, “Oh, Rebel baby, we are mates. You were mine first and I am reclaiming you. You’ll be my Luna and mate and you will bear my heirs.”

“Are you fucking mental?!” I yell. “I am fated to Austin Willis of Blackstone. He is my mate. You are just a forgotten nobody in my life.”

Cullen moves towards me like a predator to its prey. His eyes are lit up. “I do like a challenging woman. It’s more fun to break you and force your submission the more challenging you are.”

“Is this a game to you? A challenge? I’m not a challenge for your mental ass. You wait until Austin gets here. I will be so happy when he ends your miserable life, you bastard.” I say dripping with venom in my words.

“Oh, he can try, but he will be dead before he reaches you. See, you are going to help me weaken him. Then I will kill him and reclaim you as my mate, Rebel.” He says sinisterly.

“I will NEVER help you weaken my mate. You seriously have blown a gasket in your feeble brain if you think I help you.”

“Oh you will help me, even when you are fighting me. Have you ever heard of betrayal pains, Rebel?” He asks with a menacing smirk.

“Betrayal pains?” I would never betray Austin, so what is he talking about?

“Anytime mated and marked mates betray one another, whether they mean it or not, the one betraying their mate, causes immense pain to the other. After so much pain, it weakens the betrayed mate. You don’t even have to want it, Rebel. I can make you cause him these pains. Then I will kill him. Blackstone will be mine and so will you.”

This asshole just said all of this like it’s another day in the neighborhood. I’m tied up and weak. “What did you drug me with?”

“I used a weak form of Wolfsbane. Enough to keep you weak but conscious, for my plan to work.”

‘Roxie, how long do you think we have before this stuff wears off? Do you think this is why we can’t mind link?’

‘I think we should continue to act weak until we can connect with someone. I’m not sure how much longer this will be in our body Rebs.’

I have no idea how I am getting out of this situation. I’m too weak to fight back and I can’t connect with anyone in the mind link. I don’t know what Cullen has planned but Austin has to know I would never betray him. He is my love and my life.
